Description
A Traal, from Legends of Garesh, a forthcoming RPG world and system written by and © Patrick King 2010.Traals are sad, hulking monstrosities born of crossbreeding Orcs and Humans. One of two results (the other, Goblins, being far more common: [link] ); Traals are more dominantly Human, genetically, though the parts of the brain responsible for producing growth hormones are exponentially affected by the Orc genes and Traals almost never stop growing. Their skeletons out-grow their muscles, their muscles out-grow their skin; Traals are in constant pain. Their bones and joints grow abnormally large or in peculiar directions; limbs and parts of the torso mutate; shards of dense, granular bone jut through flesh and their skin is tight and stretched to ruin. They are almost always born infertile and are short-lived. Despite their poor deal in life, they bear an almost noble countenance and most Traals find work, usually as heavy labourers since they are not posessed of much intellect. Traal are often respected for their tenacity and monumental size and strength, and for their simple loyalty. It is not easy to make friends with a Traal, but worth it.
