I like the concept and the thought put into the design of the vehicle.
May I add my 50ct to the design concept? To further reduce drag of the trailer try to bridge or narrow the gap between the rear of the cab and the trailer (for the turbulences created by the cab will have a negative influence on trailer drag). A set of wind foils or a larger overhang in front of the kingpin should suffice. Modern European semi-trucks with van or reefer trailers share this concept and might give a few ideas. Just my humble opinion.
Top design. Very cool!

You're right. The width of the gap is based on a 45 degree turn of the trailer. The truck does have a set of vertical airfoils at the back of the cabin for exactly this purpose, but they're hardly noticeable. At second thought, they seem too small to be effectively compensating the gap.
Thanks for noticing!

This is the stuff right here man.
