Description
happy birthday and merry chrismas to me! ^_^I mean, i still use my intuos, like drawing the faces on this photo... but cintiq is soooooo niceeeeeeee
so far, my views of the cintiq:
pretty cool! only 1 single dead pixel, which i dont notice much of, but i DO notice there is this little tiny dust/smudge UNDER the glass, actually theres two of them! now that is bugging me >
EDIT: I keep on forgetting to say, all problems fixed. Wacom support is excellent, we worked things out, and now i have a new one)

Question is the glass on the cintiq thick or thin?
someone is selling me one working but with cracks on the corners for a really good price,
I just want to know if the glass would be easy to repair.

Wow, I want a cintiq so bad. But it's expencive, haha. So I guess I'll have to "settle" for intuos 4 for now.
Which cintiq have you got? There are two types right?

i have a 15 year old tablet that is starting to break down on me and im buying intuos... would you say more sensitivity is better? i know intuos is more sensitive then cintiq (comparing latest models dunno what models those are) and im used to the weird hand eye coordination issue. but im not sure how much difference it actually makes

i havent used the newer intuos that has greater sensitivity so i dont know the difference between the two. im surprised your tablet lasted that many years o_O;
get the one that you think you can 'make back' the money spent, if that makes any sense.

haha uh... ok O.o i already kno which one im gettin but thnx lol. yea my tablet lasted so long because rather then push really hard to get the maximum brush size to go, i just increased the size of the brush so that using a bit of pressure but not grinding the pen would get the size i need, saved the nib some trouble and gave less wear to the pen lol. and i used that thing 24 hours a day lol

do you find drawing on the cintiq is just like drawing on paper because im saving up for a cintiq. and also should i go with the big 21ux or the 12? are they the same just not in size? and did you find i harder to draw on intous becuase your not looking at the intous while drawing? sorry for asking so many questions

zelas In reply to chinuyasha500 [2009-08-07 02:21:37 +0000 UTC]
no, cintiq is not like drawing on paper. if anything it feels more like painting on a canvas more.
It really depends on the person too. i dont like the 12" one since i think its too small.
The main reason why I prefer my cintiq to the intous is that I feel like using cintiq keeps my practice with "real" medium better than the intuos. I had no problem with drawing with just a plain tablet before I got the cintiq, nor do I think it is really such a great advantage or anything like that.
So for me, drawing on the cintiq and intuos is pretty much the same, but cintiq's just cooler
As one of my professors in college said when someone asked what kind of brush to use, "Oh I just pick the coolest looking one that works". hehe.
Of course, I know its a lotta money to spend too. So I'd just say, unless you know you can make back the money you spent from using it, dont get it.

ok thanks for answering all my questions and dont worry it wont be a waist of money for me i just find my bamboo fun really hard to draw on even though i practice with it all the time so this i'm hoping will help me get what i am looking for.
PS. your art is amazing!

Hahahaa, I lol'd xD
Hmm, I have two questions, would you mind answering them?
What size is your intuos?
Anddd, I have my own tablet, a Bamboo Fun, but it's really small xD I use my tablet all the time, do you think I should get an intuos?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
zelas In reply to poppy-cock [2008-12-09 19:28:49 +0000 UTC]
The drawing area of the intuos is 9x12
I'd say either get it now or once your bamboo breaks. I never used a Bamboo before, but I had 2 (or was it 3) of the old graphires and they worked out fine for as long as i used it.

Nice Cintiq! ^_^ I recently got a Cintiq 12WX. I have the same problem w/ the pixel being off. I was talking to Wacom to see if I could get a new one but I think they said it wasn't possible...

yea, they cant do much about dead pixels, but if you see any specks of dust in the glass you probably can get them to fix it!

I am going to be getting an Intous3 9x12 soon, I was wondering, do you need to have a well performing graphics card to create "stunning" pieces of art?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
zelas In reply to tr60 [2008-07-03 16:31:50 +0000 UTC]
nope. graphics card issues are mainly if you are trying to work in 3d modeling. drawing wise pretty much anything will do.

I currently use a graphire. I may upgrade to an intuos in a year or whenever I get better at drawing(mainly use it for photo editing). The cintiqs look really nice but they cost a ton.

XD I'll finally be getting a Cintiq at the end of this month after a year of drooling over it...I never understood how someone can draw on one surface and have it appear on another like with the Intuos...I'm sure if I tried it, I'd be able to catch on, it's just a tad odd. n_n;;

Wow....
-jealous-
Right now i have the money to buy an intuos, but I'm in sort of a dilemma.
my graphire just broke and I'm not sure if I should buy another one or buy the intuos because I'm afraid there's going to be a big difference in using them, such as how sensitive the Intuos is compared to the graphire...
But my dad also wants to buy a cintiq...
I wish I was rich!
-pulls out hair-
Your cintiq is looking mighty sexy there. xD

zelas In reply to kyou-shou [2007-08-20 02:03:50 +0000 UTC]
well you cant tell the difference if you switch to a intuos, its only if you are used to more sensitivity and switch back to a graphire that you will be able to tell.
