It's the enhanced Z-saber from X4 that allows you to destroy enemy shots.

The Saber Upgrade you get from Storm Owl in X4 is purple (lavender) in color, I think...
It turns pink when he uses the dash attack learned from Slash Beast, but I think it's a permanent upgrade in X5 that turns his Saber pink (I don't remember which boss you get it from).
