Description
I have never hidden my rather fanboyish love of Jasper Johns, and his use of stencils and type elements in his works. I have a fairly large stencil collection myself, but wanted to start working with a breoader font selection and see what happens. This is the first of a small batch of preliminary ideas i am working with -- short words/phrases that when using certain manipulated typesets and approaches makes something interesting (to me at least).acrylic paint, acrylic ink, water soluable colored pencil, stuff, things + digital

Awesome work.
Everything about it is great; the letters, the colors, the texture, everything!

I don't even know where to start, honestly. I'm simply in love with the tones; the blue and orange just stand out so well to smack a sense of hip and smooth into you. And the texture?

you sweet sweet man
thanks.
I have a few more experiments in this vein I want to try, but finding the right fonts/words is proving difficult.

This I like. Maybe I should start using some of those stencil things myself.
Any good tips for making them?

thought this looked pretty rad, then i full-viewed and i fuckin love it. as always, your textures and tones are amazing, and i really like your use of type here - gives it sort of an urban, yet sophisticated feel. it just has that look, like there's something deeper here, something between the lines... killer piece.

This has a loveable conceptual value. The background is well executed and the strong red typo on top adds alot to this piece. Very well done!

awesome... i like the use of a stylized font instead of a stenciled font.
