This has been finished for about three weeks now - it's probably time to upload it, as I have to be finished with last minute adjustments by now.I think I don't do enough 'pure' fanart. I considered producing more a while back, but the Sonic fandom has lost it's appeal to me for the most part. However, this image provided me with enough interest and led to what you see here. I'm satisfied that not only have I produced a piece of work I am happy with, but i've proven to myself that if approached in the right way, producing art for this fandom can actually still be fun.
A more detailed background (with clouds) was produced with my precious Wacom tablet, after the first attempt was a bit bland and lacked a sense of depth. A little feedback from others can transform work in progress enourmously. Thank you to ~Fruufoo for her constructive criticism and my family offline - they helped me bring a lot more life into this piece.
Anyway - a 'classic' image of Sonic and Tails with the early Tornado, flying high over Mobius as the sun sets. Fan Art, pure and simple, which was challenging and fun to produce. I may do some more like this in the future.

After a long and hard battle, it's always good to enjoy the little things like a peaceful sunset. I am quite impressed. The depth here is nice, colors are spot on and shaded quite well, and the lighting and shadow effects are excellent.

This picture would have been perfect if there were no outlines and more detailed shading to Sonic, Tails and the Tornado (which is almost perfect, love the metallic shading at it <3)

Very nice reminds me of the scene in Sonic 2 . As far as the fandom goes, yeah the games are terrible, and the archie comic is to light-hearted. I gues i crave for the SatAM days despite it's flaws. I think they should just start with a clean slate and let the series fade for a few years. But of course they would rather milk it.

Ah, this brings back the day of old, the classic old-school Sonic :^) I found this art on Sheezyart I think and used it as my desktop for a while :^) First off, compliments on making the real-old-school style Sonic and Tails. Sometimes I see old-school inspired art, but there's hints of the SA design thrown in. This art is 100% classic :^) Of course the lighting is fabulous, especially on the Tornado n_n
