Description
I had a vision of this image in my mind for a long time. It's from a story that I am working on right now. I am a big fan of any architecture that is associated with bodies of water. I started to look at a lot of Italian architecture to do this matte concept.I also entered a contest on this subject which was hosted by Bobby Chiu(Alice in wonderland concept artist) and judged by Dylan Cole(Avatar concept art director). Due to lack of time, it had a lot of flaws but I still managed to win it.
. After that, I worked on it for a day to finish it off. It was 100% completed in Photoshop with no use of 3D.it has completed in a time period of 3 days. My thanks to Dylan Cole and Bobby Chiu for the contest.(Photoshop.3010 pixels wide)

I like the contrast between the left and right sides of the painting, the light shining through the clouds is also very nice, the entire pic is really serene, really capturing the mood of a dream, but i find a few things a little wierd about this pic, first the water, the waves breaking near the statues to the right and boat on the left look a little sudden, I'd either remove it, or bring it a touch closer to the object its crashing against, and rough the sea between that and the moving boat a little, that way it will appear as if its the boat's wake that is crashing against the objects, secondly, the smoke, the smoke next to the birds could be shown to be a little distrubed by the flapping of wings, the smoke above the boat in the middle could also be shown a little smaller, and with toning throughout, so that it seems to be pushed away by the breeze the boat is creating, i think you tried to do that there, but it looks a little like the smoke is going towards the left, and not backwards, the candles could do with tiny wisps on top of them, little details, I know, but they really help a pic come out great!
