This is not really a tutorial as much as it's to teach people to not be too naive when it comes to art. There are people who do this! This is of course only one way of doing it, I'm sure there are plenty.
If you do fake your art I have absolutely no respect for you.
Fake art - why care and what to look forI posted this last week for anyone looking for help to spot fake art. This is not law, if you don't care, feel free to move on. But if you do care that there are fakers out there, then maybe this could be of some use to you too. We have a serial faker on the loose on dA today so it sparked this little lot once more.
So, the questions/scenarios asked are always the same and the responses/justifications are always the same, but give them a minute to sink in before replying and insulting.
(Q1) Why do you care if someone is cheating what does it have to do with you?

Im just getting so mad about this... her... she is so annoying! Her deviantpage is bad, but her facebookpage is even worse! [link]
Artist who really thinks she is great and awesome and talented and blah, they want her to comment on their work "because she is so fantastic, and she could probely give me a good crituque"... and the truth is they are probaly better than her!
And then she is always writing about famous people who has seen her work (I hope it´s just as fake as her drawings), and saying she has mad skills... 
Sorry for that, I just think it´s so unfair! :/

I know, she's got no shame at all. If you actually look at her work it's not very good at all. The scribbling looks lazy.
But her fans are brainwashed and they will believe everything she touched is gold. If you confront her she will go ape-shit on you as if you've just threatened her very existence. But I believe it will come back and hit her in the face in the end.

I did not realize it was that easy to pretend to be an artist. This is rather creative in its own way haha... How pitiful that people actually do this. Thank you for posting this-- it's eye opening.

Also, do you have any kind of tips for how to spot this? (Because i have to check every single person i have added on my watch list now XD)

Well I'm not an expert here, and I'm sure there are ways I dont even know of
But here are some:
Some trace the art and then add the photo on top digitally to make it look more realistic. Try overlaying the image, if pores, fur and such match the original image it's probably fake
Some are even lazier and simply edit an image to make it look drawn. These are the easiest to spot as you just need to overlay the image.
