Description The sound of hell

What can I say more? Well, it has the motif of Splash Hill somewhere, so it's reminiscent of Sonic 4, which had a terrible sound design, but Tomoya Ohtani managed to make it even worse. And the fact that he composed the main theme, which is awesome BTW, makes me question myself: how did that happen? How could Jun Senoue let that happen? Why did he leave Sonic for just being an assistant afterwards? The musics in SA1 and SA2 complemented each other, it was solid, even if the genres were drastically different. Here, it's also drastically different, but we have on one side something that sounds cool and badass, and on the other hand we have... THAT. I'm speechless

You sure it's not a problem on the uploader's end?

I'm not sure if it's the sound of hell, but I'm getting a definite "This should sound better than it does" vibe from the song in the link.

Its pretty damn bad. Yikes.

Thankfully a fan made a pleasant modern sonic remix that sounds like something from unleashed:Ā youtu.be/SP5cA57G82I

And another fan made a more professional genesis sounding version that sounds like it came from a legit sonic game(probably cuz they might've used the soundfonts of the classic games):Ā m.soundcloud.com/voksmaigosh/g…

This is more proof why Sega should be hiring fans to do their work since Sega has no idea what they're doing.

Ooh, nice. Now we're talkin'! Seriously, why did they play the ugly sounding chiptune version first? Ohtani said on Twitter it wasn't the final version, but I beg for a complete reorchestration at this point

In my honest opinion, they shouldn't have real life composers working with synthetic chiptune instruments. They're restricting themselves.
Senoue and Otani should just stick too using real instruments.

I suggest that senoue abridges his green hill tune and repurpose it as the speed shoe power up jingle or the invincibility jingle.

Sounds fine to me.

Oh come on, it actually doesn't sound THAT bad. The drums are kind of messed up in some places, but other than that it sounds fine to me.

It's a very bad sign when even the soundtrack is shit.
