Awesome. I love the combination of sharp angles and curves. Great colors. Reminds me of the inside of a harddrive.

Amazing that this is a fractal. But what exactly happens when reality gets shattered? I can only think of shattered dreams because I always act like reality does not exists. If I try to think about shattered reality, everything stays blank. O.o

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aeires In reply to SarahTsukimi [2005-06-25 02:48:37 +0000 UTC]

For me, it's like when something catastrauphic happens in life that one isn't prepared for. Reality seems to get left behind as disaster sets in and things turn surreal in a bad way.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SarahTsukimi In reply to Aeires [2005-06-25 11:08:06 +0000 UTC]

Oh, indeed! Now I finally know how to picture something like that in my mind. Thanks! ^-^ When something catastrauphic happens people indeed just seem to stop thinking. The instinct how to survive takes over, I guess.

Man, you're right. For some reason I was thinking that was from Mortification but looking through my CD's I confused it with Post Momentary Affliction. Extraction From Mortality was the ticket.

Dark atmosphere, red/yellow tones...

From a bird's view I see the ground of a cathedral, a cathedral with no roof, with a smashed dome, and some white pigeons flying around... Like a place where some destruction took place, where peace and war converge (or perhaps battle).

Thanks, appreciate that. UF never ceases to amaze me with its versatility, whether it's what I've found, or looking at yours, Creativ82's, or even Batorruco's works, they are all so different and unique.

laethian In reply to Aeires [2005-06-24 15:28:01 +0000 UTC]

as amazing as photoshop. The number of possibilities is such that anybody, provided thay have some of their own aesthetic judgement, can find their own style. And i'm not even talking about writing one's own formulas, a part where this tool is simply geniousy too, being a real-time bare text formula compiler...

yulii [2005-06-22 13:58:21 +0000 UTC]

that is a good way of manipulating uf...to come up with this totally diff looking fractal..looks really cool..the dark colors adds an old past time or something...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aeires In reply to yulii [2005-06-24 01:12:41 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, Yulii. Usually make things like this after I've fought a formula for a few days and decide to get aggressive with the techniques after nothing works. Wonder if that was what influenced the shattered feel.

... ... Wicked... I just can't stop staring at it... ... I wonder how the print would be... With all the details that doesn't show in the small file... ...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aeires In reply to yellow-spot [2005-06-24 01:07:56 +0000 UTC]

I was really surprised at how many things came out in the print render. Fractals are always a surprise because the larger you render the image the more details pop out. Sometimes that's a bad thing as parts appear that don't work, but this time it was cool seeing all the abstract parts appear.

Kind of gives me the impression of an organic/mechanical feel.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aeires In reply to jondapicam [2005-06-21 17:04:35 +0000 UTC]

I can accept that. I was thinking of drive by shootings and how the bullets destroy everything in their path when I was making this, but there are lots of things that can be pulled from the image.

quite cool.
very much unlike what i had seen from you lately.

i like the breaking chaotic feel. it's controlled, but not so much as to make the feel disappear.
good job!

Aeires In reply to xaphan [2005-06-21 17:00:34 +0000 UTC]

Tried some new things and went a lot more abstract than normal on this one. Usually I try to make a fractal with an abstract flare but this time I decided to totally leave the fractal out of it while still using UF as the platform. Once again hard light was a lifesaver in getting the depth and feel to the image.
