Description France - 40,000 years ago

In my own version, this is a final episode of Walking with Prehistoric Beasts. During the late Pleistocene, the Great Ice Age began to melting the enormous sheets of ice in the far north. Much of the harsh landscape, however, were almost changed from grassy tundras into wooded areas in what is now western Europe that providing the spectacular access of natural habitat for wildlife. A continent look like today’s American Yellowstone Park, by which is consists of bisons, elks, bears, and even wolves that roamed across the terrain. But here, it is also home to one of the largest and the most successful terrestrial mammal of all, the woolly mammoths.

1) Woolly Mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius)

2) Cave Bear (Ursus spelaeus)

3) Woolly Rhino (Coelodonta antiquitatis)

4) Irish Elk (Megaloceros giganteus)

5) Steppe Bison (Bison priscus)

6) Cave Hyena (Crocuta crocuta spelaea)

7) Cave Lion (Panthera leo spelaea)

8) Cave Wolf (Canis lupus spelaeus)

9) Cro-Magnon (Homo sapiens fossilis)

10) Neanderthal (Homo neanderthalensis)
