Description
This is for photoshop CS3, but it will probably work with any Photoshop. As by request from the livestreamers!
>> BTW, using the "stroke" feature works just as well if not better, depending on how you draw your bubbles.

After creating white bubble shape you may just select it and use Edit -> Stroke to create the outline.

I prefer to use the Stroke tool to do the outline, but otherwise, nice little tut, is is more or less exactly how I do mine

Wow, that helped! Thanks! BTW, is there any special program you use to create comics? and what do you use to draw the background and characters?

Aw, Akeli's so cute. XD
Another way is to leave the bubble white, double click on it's layer to open the layer properties and add a black stroke around it.

Easier way to do that would be to just add a layer effect stroke, then you can add any effects/color/transparency with the movement of a slider bar :3

This will be great for future reference. But, um, could you maybe show me how to make the background transparent for scanned drawings? I've been taking the long way around by using the eraser, which kinda makes it look messy.

Wow... that was fast. Nice tutorial. I haven't ever tried photoshop, so I'm afraid, I don't appreciate this like I should, but I love the little Akeli chibi up at the top if nothing else.

Do you use a digital editor? GIMP?

I play around with GIMP sometimes, but I don't get much into it. I prefer traditional art usually.

I'd suggest stroke instead of glow, a bit easier Either way though

If I may, since you are using photoshop, it might be easier to create the border of the bubble by selecting it and going to Edit > Stroke, and playing with the settings until you get one appropriate. Or you could double click on the layer and select the stroke option from the Layer Styles window.
But Photoshop is so funny. You can do the same thing a million different ways so... now that I think about it, your way might be just as efficient. X3 Idk. Just thought I'd throw it out there, in case anyone who didn't know stumbles upon this comment.
