I soaked mine for five days and it didn't turn out too dull. I think the thing that makes a big difference is the talcum powder.

If the pigtails are detatchable, then maybe you could put them and the base wig in separate bowls and just soak them individually for 5 days, I'm not sure though.

This is really one stupid question, but what's the purpose? Is it because it makes the styling easier and better? I would like to know...

helps make it less shiny! there was a post going around on tumblr when they just soaked the wig, and there was still a lot of shine to it. the talc helps make it dull vuv

Does this work for all wigs? I'm scared of ruining mine...

amextris In reply to WorldwideWumbologist [2013-04-26 03:23:29 +0000 UTC]
I wouldn't think that fabric softener would completely ruin a wig. And I think if it did, I'd be afraid to use it on my clothes.

Same. I've been wanting to do it to mine, but I'm pretty worried about completely wrecking it.

how much of each product should I use?

InspectorKuzon In reply to luanebulosa [2013-03-16 13:33:16 +0000 UTC]
I believe it is 1 liter of water + 1 cup fabric softener, with the talc and styling product up to your discretion.
