Description hey everybody, here's a quick look at how I made this image. I reality, this image took waaayy more steps than this, and I've been tooling around with it for probably a month. Overall, I'd say to you guys who are interested in making images like this, is that it does help to be abstract in the beginning. Just throw down a bunch of impulsive brush strokes, and learn how to make custom brushes and shapes( you can google those things)...AND I highly recommend watching David Levy's Gnomon dvd on speedpainting and brush creation. Thanks for looking guys!

Hey man very nice job, that is extremely good.

But I have a question?
I just got the from speedpainting to concept art dvd by david levy and I really enjoyed it. But doesnt it come with the brushes david levy made throughout the dvd? Because on the case of the dvd it says "This DVD includes the set of brushes that are created in the lecture, as well as the layered PSD files. But I dont know where they are located? I fired up the dvd and I have no idea where they are located so I can get them in my photoshop. Please could you help me out???

Double click on the dvd icon, all the files and brushes are in there...like opening a folder on your desktop Have fun making your brushes!

Ok I cant tell you how extremely dumb I feel right now. But I still cant figure it out... I am at the screen where it says "Introduction" "Play Lecture" "Lecture Notes" "Resources" and "Bonus". Do I click on the main header going across that page that says "From Speedpainting to Concept Art" or do I click on the one that say "Designstudio" or do I click on the one below the Designstudio one that says "The Gnomon Workshop". Because I have double clicked on all of those and so far I have gotten nothing So once again if you could help me out I would really appreciate it and I am very sorry for not understanding what you said before. I feel embarassed asking this.

no worries you have to click on the dvd icon on your desktop, like whern you enter a normal cd, an icon appears on the desktop....before any screens come up. You can't access any of the stuf from the actual play window.....so double click on the dvd icon ok, and all the files are there..

Ok I tried it again and nothing happened, it just started to play and no new icons showed up anywhere?

tHs-Acid In reply to AlexRuizArt [2007-06-27 19:34:21 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm well so far I have not seen any dvd icon pop up, it just plays as soon as I enter the cd? But I will look again. Thanks for all the help.

You seem to have such confidence with your pieces- you can shove in random textures along with vector shapes, and it always turns out great. I love that blue glowy thing towards the bottom right ^^

Its always nice to see your process

thanks lucky As far as brush making, the process is quite simple( google 'making custom photoshop brushes'...it's the design you make in the initial stage that can be trying. I'll do a tutorial one of these days, look out for it!
