Name: Forte
Alias/Nickname: Fort, Forty (he hates them both)
Species: Rozenich
Age: Human Equivalent 40-ish
Height/Weight: 5 feet 8 inches, 140 lbs.
Gender: Male

Reason for entering: After spending a lifetime suffering from his illness, Forte longs for a cure, a cure that he will surely not live to retrieve. He seeks immortality so he may live forever and thus gain all of the universe's knowledge so he can prove his worth to his kind (and to himself) despite his illness. Forte is the fighter character.

Strengths:
Sharp meat-shredding teeth.
Extremely keen hearing: able to hear subtle, quiet sounds.
Stabby knife claws and talons: good for cutting skin and using to climb (especially his sickle talons).
Excellent climbing ability: as a tree-dwelling species he can balance and maneuver well through trees or tree-like obstacles.
Tail fan: like all rozenich, Forte has a colorful tail fan that can be expanded and waved around, which can be used for intimidation or distraction. Obviously how affective it is depending on the victim.

Abilities:
Intelligent and inventive. Forte is like the MacGyver of Rozenich: give him a potato and a rubber band and he'll craft a tool that'll at least be feasible enough to get him out of bad situations.
The downside to his craft is, well, he actually needs things in order to make things, and often needs tools to do it properly. He can make plenty of things with his hands/teeth/feet/whatever but the product will be crude and not as efficient than if he had specialized tools to work with. He is also limited to whatever is in his immediate surroundings.
Crafting takes time and mental energy. If he rushes himself, the product will have a high risk of failure.

Weaknesses:
He is entirely blind in his left eye. Not having an eyeball kinda does that. His left side is thus his weak point.
Forte has fairly slow reaction time, meaning if something is coming at him (like a punch) it will take him a second to acknowledge it, and it might be too late.

Forte struggles from an autoimmune disease called "Eversleep". His body is constantly attacking himself in some way, leaving him weak and often prone. Such ways are listed below:

Physically Weak: he has little strength in his arms or legs due to his condition weakening his muscles. He can't pick up anything over 40 lbs and it takes great effort to lift himself up onto things or climb excessively.
Chronic fatigue: he gets very tired very quickly when exerting energy of any sort (fighting, running, etc.) Sometimes, he'll just get physically tired for no good reason and will need to rest. He may fall asleep from exhaustion at random points.
Pain/aches: physical activity often causes pain in his chest and muscles. The pain varies depending on how much he is moving and reacting. The pain can become so great that he loses all concentration and must stop what he is doing. Pain usually will fade after a few minutes.
Sensitive to the cold. He has something akin to Raynaud’s syndrome, which causes his hands and feet (both featherless) to become excessively cold and numb. This can cause problems especially when climbing or using his hands. It does not have to even be genuinely cold (it can just be a little chilly or drafty) and it can cause the issue to arise.This is also why he wears a cloak and often keeps his hands under it.

Personality:
Intelligent and sophisticated, at least in Rozenich standards. He can read and write in the kurri language and some others, which is something rozenich are mostly incapable of. He is calm-natured and mostly quiet, not really one for drawing attention to himself. Unfortunately, his intelligence also causes him to be rather close-minded. It will take a lot of prodding or proof to get him to change his opinions on something. He is not against arguing his point, but if he feels the opponent is wasting his time he will say so and will often straight up walk away if he feels they are too irritating to deal with.

At his core, Forte is a coward. He will try to hide it best he can, but if presented with a fight or flight situation, he will always try to avoid conflict because he knows he does not stand much of a chance. This leads him to being suspicious and sometimes paranoid of others. Not to the point of avoidance, but he certainly will not open up to others unless he grows to trust them.

This is not to say he will not interact with or be around others, as he is still a socializing creature, much like his species generally is, but he does so mostly out of necessity than desire. He will not admit it openly, but he is lonely, and he hates it.

History:
Forte was born afflicted with "Eversleep" (as named by Rozenich) an autoimmune disease that is typically a death sentence for his kind, a primitive race with meager advances in medicine. Forte was only able to survive to his current age thanks to intervention by the Kurri, the friendly co-inhabitants to his people. However, the disease is incurable and relief only temporary. The damage had been done, and Forte is both considerably smaller and weaker than his species and members of his village. This has caused Forte to be extremely resentful and has built a longing for better things. Physically incapable, he instead chose to use his mind and hopes to one day gather all the information of the world, a dream he knows will never happen as his health continues to deteriorate.

Relationship with Kinsey:
They don’t actually like each other, let’s put it that way. They only relate to one another due to their one similarity: nobody likes either of them. Forte knows Kinsey was only assigned to him because no one else wanted to be, and he is often treated as the “starter kit” of assignments for most kurri. Forte expects Kinsey will not be around for long, so he does not bother to bond with him any.

Likes:
Quiet places so he can think.
Crafting, inventing things, or studying objects.
Artwork, especially paintings and sculptures.
Daydreaming.

Dislikes:
People bossing him around.
Sleeping too much.
Getting dirty.
Being proven wrong.

Other:
Forte speaks eloquently and formally. Sometimes he will throw out a show-offy dictionary term or phrase that'll make you scratch your head, but usually it is at least understandable, even if a touch fancy.

Forte is demi-sexual.
