Materials used:
0.5 mechanical pencil, and a sheet of plain printer paper
No smudging used (I don't have one of those smudge stick things, so I just made a lot of really small lines for the shading
)Contrast added using PS7
I started this two weeks ago... but with homework and stuff I wasn't working on it much, so It probably took me about 4-6 hours..

Okay...Now for a really comment with out the gawking...
I love the detail...You are dubbed the detail God. I love the shading and the highlights. Just...wow.
The only thing I really notice which is a bit hard to do is the differences between the ears and the sides of the nose. The left ear is bigger and more detailed than the right. The right side of the nose seems a bit different than the left side. Freaking awesome.....

LOL thanks yeah it took awhile using my .5 pencil...
And actually his nose and ears are crooked like that in real life, just look at the reference picture I used (a link to it is in the description). I don't glamorize portraits of people by fixing unsymmetrical features in their faces, I prefer to get it as close to the real thing as possible.

I am amazed in how quick you were able to apply tones with pencil, instead of blending. Your speedy and your tones do give this piece realism. You do not need a tortillion at all.
