Description Amalgamation is a Universe where a multitude of Sci-Fi videogame universes fit together as one, with it's own timeline, galaxy map, canon and comics. Images are organised into folders on the left:

This is my belated poster for my "Citadel Vs Covenant" Event, more information on that can be found here:

Related Media and extra information about this battle/the story (Black and White Size Chart has calculations/comparisons of each sides technology):

DISCLAIMER: Before you comment about the technological difference or that Mass Effect can't beat Halo you should read the entirety of this post I did calculating the aspects of both ships, I put in a lot of work and math to do this right so if you're going to comment be educated first so I don't have to continuously say the same damn shit over and over.

I'd just like to add that, when I setup this scene, thanks to my size comparison chart I was able to size everything properly. Everything in this image is actually sized proportionately but the distance does what you see here haha. Those Turian Fighters are so close to the camera they're almost in it. And there was actually a group of Human ships in this render along with a few Mac Platforms but they've been swallowed by distance and pixels, I've checked you can't see them, which is cool because that's how far away the Dreadnoughts and Super Dreadnoughts I had in mind for image would be and I don't have models for those, and there's supposed to be more Covenant vessels in this fight but they'd be out of frame, the charge is being lead by the three Assault-Carriers. The size chart also shows the difference in science and technology between Covenant and Citadel forces. Just thought that it might be interesting to some people, let's get into the backstory behind this image...

---

The second battle of the human fortress world Reach, 2183 in the Amalgamation Timeline.

The Geth had hit Eden Prime a few months earlier into the year, right when the Covenant had there metaphorical heel on humanities metaphorical neck. They attacked the Citadel right before the Covenant had made it's way to Reach, and humanity sacrificed a portion of it's Fifth Fleet; one of the only fleets it had left, to defend the Citadel and save the Destiny Ascension, thanks to Commander Shepard's on the ground advice. When the Covenant showed up to Reach the UNSC had little in the way to reinforce there garrison of 130 ships, and 20 Mac platforms. The Covenant showed up with a force of 750 ships, the battle was lost to the UNSC with the Covenant suffering 290 ship loses, slightly more than in the traditional Halo Universe due to the better technology of the Amalgamation Universe available to humanity (262 in traditional timeline).

What was left of the fleet of Particular Justice, approximately 226 ships, pursued the Pillar of Autumn into slip-space which left 234 ships to finish glassing the planet, but the events leading up to this would change the war forever. Because Humanity had earned it's seat on the Council, and selflessly sacrificed it's own ships at a time of crisis to there own people, the Council and all the species within it owed them a great debt. A debt which would throw the Galaxy into utter war.

The Citadel fleet arrived with one thousand Frigates and Cruisers, split between the Turian, Asari and Salarian hierarchies, with Turians supplying the majority of it. The Asari and Salarian each brought one Dreadnought for support, and the Turians committed two and one of the legendary Super-Dreadnoughts, which all kept there distance, sniping at the Covenant Assault-Carriers whilst they were swarmed by hundreds of Frigates and Cruisers. The rest of the fleet executed there "wolf-pack" tactics on the smaller Covenant ships, where Frigates are organised into flotillas of four to six ships. The "wolf packs" then speed through the Covenant's formations, hunting enemy vessels whose particle shields had been taken down by fighter-launched disruptor torpedoes . The wolf pack's circle-strafed vulnerable targets, using their superior speed and maneuverability to evade return fire. The Citadel was also accompanied by a very small token fleet of UNSC ships, a handful of frigates and three cruisers, which, to the Citadel's strong suggestion, did there best to stay out of the fight. Humanity had been exhausted from it's war with the Covenant and had little ships to spare, most of which were committed to blockading Earth. Humanities vessels sat back and watched, there as a formality more than anything, it was the human fortress world after all, they needed personnel to oversee the asset and help rebuild.

The Citadel fleet of over one thousand ships managed to overwhelm and destroy just under one hundred Covenant vessels, 94, including one of the Super-Carriers whilst severely crippling the second and damaging the third before the rest retreated, the Citadel lost 254 of there very tiny Frigates and Cruisers and took no damage to there Dreadnoughts. Reach was saved whilst only being partially glassed, and the rest of the fleet stayed to garrison the planet. It was the first time Turians had occupied a human world since Shanxi, but this time it was a welcomed occupation.

Turian General Adrian Victus  had this to say about the coming war after Reach was liberated:

"I must admit I was somewhat reluctant in the beginning to go starting a war with the Covenant, the strategist in me admires their brutality.... the Turian in me knows I'm staring at an Empire that committed unspeakable crimes against my ancestors in the war of Two Council's. An Empire that could very well bring the Galaxy to it's knees. And humanity has been facing them alone. What's more than that, they spent resources and lives defending us when there own worlds were burning, a feeling that my ancestors knew too well. Humans were there for us in our hour of need, and with pride, so will the Turians be there for the humans. Did you hear that, Covenant? Your twisted, sickening genocide upon humanity is coming to an end, on behalf of all Turians and the Citadel, that is a promise."

Admiral Steven Hackett responded on behalf of Humanity:

"There are no words to convey the gratitude towards what you've all done; all the Citadel races coming together to defend our homes? You can't possibly understand what this means to us, all of us. To every man, woman and child out there who's had to cower in fear, wondering if there colony will be next... you've given them hope. You've given all of us hope. More than we ever thought we could have at this point. We can't ever hope to repay you, but from the bottom of all our hearts; thank you."

Admiral Terrance Hood was unavailable for comment as he was busy preparing the Home Fleet's defences of Earth.

Very iconic battle many humans died but reach is a military stronghold as well as a tactical advantage for the humans, so losing reach was a big deal and retaking it was even more imperative.

Will I agree the the ships from mass effect ships are stronger than People think it bother me they're are saying that they could easily overwhelm ships from halo even though most but not all of the unsc and covenant mostly covenant ship weapons can one shot any of citadel counsel's ships and I know I don't have to mention the forerunners

How is one 1000-234 "easily?" I explain the math and the the way firepower is distributed among lots of smaller platforms, and that there weapons fire much faster/more rapid, it means Citadel can evade fire and take less hits whilst continuously dealing damage without having to worry about being a giant gun on a brick that get's blown away easily.

Not everything is about raw power, strategy, manouverability, weapon cooldowns and dexterity were all taken into account.

I honestly don't understand what some people aren't getting, the fact is that Halo ships do over power Citadel, but you missed the entire point.

The Turian Fleet helping the UNSC retake Reach? Are the Krogan going to Reach's surface to engage Covenant ground forces?

Amalgamation100 In reply to DarkLucario092 [2018-01-22 13:01:51 +0000 UTC]

I'd imagine some Krogan, yes.

The Krogan aren't really helping out in this war because of the whole Genophage thing, however the Turians are employing some Krogan mercs into there ranks

But a Covenant leader begins doing the same after this attack.

There is a number of reasons why the Covenant Fleet was defeated, and I must stress that just because ME ships are smaller that does not by default make them inferior, there are disadvantages and advantages here.

Basically man I did a whole bunch of calculations and comparisons for both universes ships here

But if you want me to do a small summary of the main reasons why I'll go through it now with you

#1 The Covenant Fleet that was at Reach at this time was cut into thirds because it already went up against Reach's defences and then split in half to chase the autumn as was explains, so they were outnumbered. 230 battleworn ships vs a fleet of over 1K, overwhelming force

#2 even though ME's ships are tiny there firepower is more than what a halo ship of that size could produce because of mass effect's physics and they can also fire more rapidly, they also outnumber the Covenant ships so basically they got swarmed by a bunch of angry hornets, people die from that irl so metaphorically, this is very deadly.

There are more reasons but basically the main one is that ME's firepower is split up between hundreds of smaller platforms, it's a different tactical advantage to putting all of your firepower on one MAC large station without a shield and hoping it can hit as many ships as possible before it gets destroyed. They also had backup from several dreadnoughts and a super dreadnought for extra firepower which I calculated would be more than enough to take on three Assault Carriers.

I'll be making a video on this soon so I'll be sure to link it to you

HeavenlyDragonRider [2017-09-03 06:28:45 +0000 UTC]

cool beans, however it could use some more explosions (all that cannon fire and only 2 guys blow up?) and covenant fighters like sepharaphs and space banshees.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Amalgamation100 In reply to HeavenlyDragonRider [2017-09-25 12:15:49 +0000 UTC]

It's a still shot of a massive battle, not everything is in frame and it's only a split second in time

I imagined this image being taken just as the first volley began hitting it's targets.

I definitely could of put some space banshee's and Seraphs in there though, idk why I forgot that honestly.

I guess you could say they're there but they'd be too far away to see, the little specs are cruisers and shit, the only reason you can see Turian fighters is because I put them IN the camera, everything is too scale there is even a group of UNSC ships at the planet but they're too small to be seen at all.

I've mentioned that in my universe it's more balanced, since both super powers developed alongside each other with access to the same universal tech.

IE Plasma weapons don't exist in Mass Effect because it's impossible in there universe, same with Element Zero and ME physics for the Halo universe, in this scenario both sides have both.

Amalgamation100 In reply to Hells-Gate-Arrested [2017-05-17 00:13:27 +0000 UTC]

There are a couple of points I'd like to make:

#1. This is a battle that, although created as close as possible to canon specifications is technically it's own alternate universe that I created. It has it's own altered history and amalgamated technology from both sides and from other sources (Predators, Galactic Federation etc) so it's subject to it's own rules; like the Superdreadnoughts, those are none-cannon creations.

#2. This is the Covenant Fleet of Particular Justice AFTER invading Reach, going up against its fleet and all it's defences in a universe where humanity is more technologically capable AND after Thel took half of what was left of it to follow the Autumn into slip-space. This is a QUARTER of the Fleet of Particular Justice.

#3. The Citadel Fleet, despite being technologically inferior (though not by as much as people would think) AND having ships significantly smaller than Covenant ships do, in cannon, appear to outnumber Covenant ships immensely.

All of the calculations and work I did on this prior to making the poster can be seen here if you are interested in scrutinising the math and data that was compiled for this calculated outcome, also keep in mind this was measured to give the particular outcome that it did because this was the story I wanted to tell, it's called "Retaking Reach" not "Fanboyism ruins my art and story direction"

LordArcheronVolistad [2017-05-02 22:54:18 +0000 UTC]

Given how you put a fleet of Turian Cruisers IN FRONT OF the Covenant ships, it looks to me that they are Supercarriers, which would have been more appropriate given that the ships were first introduced in Halo Reach. Nonetheless, Love the art and the story is phenomenal!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Amalgamation100 In reply to LordArcheronVolistad [2017-05-06 11:31:36 +0000 UTC]

I placed them all of the place, they're kinda placed in a semi-circle around the front of every ship to produce a swarm-like effect, as I said int the description I actually sized up the ships before I posed them, it's just distance makes them look smaller or larger.

However, Turian Frigates (236 metres) are really tiny when compared against an Assault Carrier (5,346 meteres), the damn things are OVER 5 thousand metres larger than them! It's monumental, and the sizing is quite accurate even though distance plays a part! This is exactly what Turian Frigates fighting Assault Carriers would look like visually

Here's my size chart that I created to be used for reference

if they had of been super-carriers well that would of been like a fly on a car lol

My laptop just screamed in terror and had a nervous breakdown....it's over in the corner crying and rocking back and forth right now.

trying to render a fleet image would fry its little circuits.Nice job, the effect is impressive

an encounter between the full Councill fleet and the covenant would be a bloody mess. those big covenant ships would get an idea what its like to poke a hornet's nest. a lot of running and swatting and trying to find the fastest way out of dodge.

Excellent work the distorted lighting and "blur" gives the piece a real sense of frenzy and chaos. Making things look too static or unmoving is a trap many artists fall into when trying to portray space combat.

I'm a huge fan of crossover universe concepts like this, and this is a fantastic depiction. Keep up the good work!

As the description says there is some related media, the B&W size chart's description goes through all the differences in science and technology for both factions, the galaxy map tells briefly of the history of how these two and many other franchises developed together
