Description
Tyrannosaurus Rex. A statue I want to get commissioned by talented paleosculptor, Jonathan Rader, at 1:35 scale, making her 34.5 cm in length. I'm really glad he likes the poseHe made the suggestion that we have the t-rex inspect something, maybe a mammal in its burrow. I think that would look good but I'm not sure what kind of mammal he could sculpt at that scale. The majority of the mammals that lived with t-rex were tiny. The only one that I can think of is the marsupial, didelphodon, which is kind of like a Tasmanian devil. That would be cool
From that idea, I thought of a crocodile that was escaping the heat of the dry season in its own burrow like they do today. The t-rex would come have a look and try to dig it out and piss the crocodile off, having it come out and tell the t-rex off
I'm gonna wait until he replies to see what he thinks.

that'd be wicked to get a sculpture done, will it be painted as well? i dont know the names of dinosaurs but i remember watching a dino doco "walking with dinosaurs" and it had a female t-rex guarding her next as some mammal thing was trying to dig up her eggs. If only i knew the name of it. i love the idea of having the head tilted to the side and the curl of the tail, it will look awesome im sure, i think its perfect as it is

Yeah, thats my favorite dino nature documentary. The first and the still the best (thank u BBC). Yeah that mammal was didelphodon, kinda like a prehistoric tazzy devil.
I don't know how i'll paint it as i still don't hav an airbrush yet (the best tool for painting models). Heres a model th artist i'm commissioning did that u might like [link]

What kind of integument will this rex have? I'd like to see a T. Rex with some feathers.

I'm sticking with Mr. Rader's design which has a feathery mane on the first quarter of the back of its neck.
