No, it isn't. The Federov Avtomat uses a similar operating system, but it is NOT an SKS. The SKS is a semi-automatic rifle, not an assault rifle.

No, it isn't. It is chambered in an intermediate cartridge, but it neither feeds from a detachable box magazinen nor is it capable of semi- AND fully-automatic fire. The SKS is a semi-auti-only rifle that feeds from a fixed magazine, making it simply a semiautomatic rifle.

Great work old boy, however the evolution of the assault rifle, the AK-47 came before the M-16A1. In fact the AK-47, came out with in a year or two of the SKS. The AK-74 which you have detailed here was a redesign of the traditional AK family to chamber a smaller caliber bullet. To put the Soviet block on par with NATO, which chose a smaller caliber based on the performance of the M-16 using a smaller caliber round.

That's ok Old Boy, not a big fan of Bullpups myself, don't like the firing mechanism that close to my head.
I won't complain if you leave them out. By the way I would have included an FN FAL.
