Thank you very much, I've found the right brushes, the Gimp is very powerful, its interface isn't user friendly,
but it's free and as good as the professional graphic software.

Seeing the skeleton stock again...I can only feel sorry for the partisans and soldiers who were stuck with the other Sten handgrip, the one with a single strip of sheet metal for a handguard. That must have been very uncomfortable to use for long periods.

The governments are cynical, the Thompsons gun cost too much, the Sten
was very cheap, and it was built quickly, even in small workshops.
Even the richest American army adopted the M3, that in any case was ergonomically
better constructed than the sten.

Ironically the MAB 38A did take very long hours to make due to a lot of love and care put in, plus the 9mm cartridge it used was so powerful that it made MP40s explode, but those two negatives was very, very small compared to the huge list of positives it had. I know that the Italian partisans were happily using that when they didn't need the Sten for concealment (you could just loot MAB 38As off dead or surrendering SRI soldiers), and Tito's soldiers loved the MAB 38A very much.

The Americans didn't use the M3 and M3A1 for too long - they later decided to replace submachine guns in general service with the M2 Carbine. M3A1s were still given to vehicle crews and tankers, though. And yeah, the M3 is a very comfortable design.

Italy hadn't any knowledge about stamped metal sheet, our work
processing always started from the raw material.  For example, when in the early years after the ww2
Italy produced the jeep Willys MB, the weight of the Fiat model exceed that of the American Model by 200 kg,
more than  a 20%.   The M2 carbine was an excellent project, a little Garand, during my compulsory military
service I dismounted one of them, it was very nice.

More or less yes, Australian Army developed and used two types of Sub-machine gun: The Owen and the Austen,
used in the Vietnam War too by the diggers.

Well might create a Piat gunner lying down. I have created the figure for it, so just the arms need positioning and the uniform created, any particular country you care to see in particular?

German weapons and gear are still better no matter how much you complain to me about it.

AndreaSilva60 In reply to RemoveKabab [2019-08-10 09:56:12 +0000 UTC]

No complain, maybe the SMLE was better than the Gehwer K98k, then ...
In my opinion Russian weapons were better too, but nevertheless the Bren was a fine LMG, the Sten was a pragmatic choice,
cheap and quick to be built, no automatic rifles...

Yeah, Russian weapons I’ll give a pass. I like the Mosin a lot, and their SMG’s were pretty nice.

I had almost forgotten about the Weebly.

How can you not like a revolver that you could also add a rifle stock and bayonet.

Also seen in the movies Zulu, Lawrence of Arabia, and many other classics.

It could pierce a steel plate of 23 mm from a distance of 90 metres.
It began rapidly obsolete, with the Pzkw III, but it was still mounted on the
offroads Vehicles of the Long Desert Range Group which fought agains the Italian patrol squads called Raggruppamento Sahariano, it has been an epic battle.

The Lewis gun  was widely issued to  the British Civil defence, but of course Great Britain wasn't ever invaded by Germany.

The PIAT was actually fired using a heavy spring to throw the round out.  And the operator had to be very close to the vehicle, about 50-60 feet I believe.  The idea was it was suppose to recock the spring every time it was fired.  If not, then the operator had to wrestle the device on the ground on his side to recock it.  Was said it was like making wild sex with it!
