Oh yes, the glorious Panzerbusche 39, which i'd rather use for blowing heads off than against an actual tank
Just curious, do you know if it was better, worse, or about as effective as the PTRD? I would assume the PTRD because of larger caliber but I'm not sure

Nice question, they were expansive sturdy beasts, single shot, bolt action.
The PTRD 41 could pierce an armour plate up to 35 mm, 40 mm with the tungsten bullet, the Pbz up to 25.
German army used as much captured PTRD 41 as possible, then the improvement of the tank's armour
made them obsolete.

Small correction: It's actually "Panzerfaust" and not "Panzer Faust"
Otherwise a really good picture.

The German army was extremely conservative. There were some automatic constructions but the generals believed in bold action. STG44 came too late and in too small numbers, while America went into the war with a semi active rifle. The generals prevented STG44 for a long time.

It's true, after all the rearmament started late, a few years before the war, after all the expensive P08
continued to be produced, replacing all the rifles is an epic feat, even the very wealthy USA entered the war with
the Springfield M1903. I think that the great military strength of Germany has always consisted of a formidable command structure, bottom to the
non-commissioned officers, prepared and trained to operate independently.

Oh yes, they were last ditch weapons, maybe one day I'll draw a thematic table on them.

Well done as always Andrea.
Glad you added the panzerfäust.
It was quite a successful series from the 30 though the 150.
The more you read about it, the more you appreciate its simplicity and effectiveness.

Simple and effectiv, this weapon destroyed thousands of vehicles in the later stages of the war.
Thank you so much!

They were mechanical jewels, but they quickly became obsolete, eventually they cut off the barrel and used them to launch shaped charges.

perché i fumi tendevano a corroderla.
formidabili, oltre a progettisti davvero molto bravi.

If I could time travel I would have ensured Germany won WW 1 by bringing forth their tech from the second one, thus the second one was never to happen, plus for safety measures put Hitler in front of a canon or send him into a minefield "to scout" the perimeter, also make sure Lenin was "accidentally" hit by a car,
