A couple of small refinements:
1.) The "Red Army" (RKKA) existed from 1918 to 1946, after which, until 1991, the armed forces of the USSR were called the "Soviet Army".
2.)Β Weapons called AK-47 do not exist. Its official name is AK (ΠΠ²ΡΠΎΠΌΠ°Ρ ΠΠ°Π»Π°ΡΠ½ΠΈΠΊΠΎΠ²Π°). And he was adopted not in 1947, but in 1949.

I like to see all of these as aks with different purposes:
Aks-74u: Ak47 but theyβre up close
Rpk-74: Ak47 but we need more covering fire
Ak-74: Ak47 but with a new ammunition
SKS: Ak47 but theyβre pretty far
SVD: Ak47 but theyβre reaaaaaally far
RPD: Ak47 but we need more bullets for them
PKM: Ak47 but we need heavy fire
RPG-7: Ak47 but we need to get rid of this tank

I donβt know who told you such nonsense.Β 5.56 Γ 45 mm NATO ammunition cannot be used in Soviet weapons with a 5.45 Γ 39 mm caliber.Β The main reason for the transition to a small caliber was the ability to increase wearable ammunition without weighting it.

I am deeply aware of this, they were real weapon systems. A combination of efficiency, robustness, practicality and economy. You will find them in every outbreak of guerrilla war, rebellion, terrorism, insurrection. The Russians were pretty damn good, as they were in WWII, you could say the same about the PPsh or DP28. Unfortunately we Italians have been very good at producing landmines, another petty face of war, first of all the TS-50 mines.

The AKM has a slant muzzle brake and a stamped receiver, while the milled one of the AK47 is more shine andΒ
silvery, and theΒ front sight in the AKM is more narrow compared to that of AK47.
This is a type 3 with the tipical magazine and the rectangular embeddingΒ in the case over the magazine.

AKS-74UΒ
In the nineties, our guards often sported this type of weapon.
