Okay, so I am just curious because I keep having problems. When you freshly download Raycast, do you need to do anything within the folder?
Move files around and the like?
Because I have attempted this multiple times and every time when I either load the skybox, or ray.x my computer gives me a list of errors.
Did i do something wrong in the file?
Any information you could give would be helpful, but if you can't that is fine.

There is no need to move anything. It is probably a mapping error. Something is not where it thinks it should be. What does the error say?
I always load the Ray.x file first before I load anything else. Then I load the ray_controller.pmx. Then do the skydome. Once those are all loaded, then I load the stage and the models.

ray-mmd-1.3.1v2\shader\shadowmap.fxsub(14): error X3000: syntax error: unexpected token '['
I feel stupid that I can't figure out what this is. And I have tried several ways and orders of loading things.
I now have been getting compiler errors when loading times of day.
I apologize if this is a simple fix, I just can't figure this out.

If you are using the Time of Day skydome, then make sure you see the special instructions that come with that skydome. There are 5 readme pictures in that folder, that show what settings you need to use for that particular skydome. There are also three special .fx files in that folder. You need to use Time of day.fx in the Main tab, Time of fog.fx in the FogMap tab, and Time of lighting.fx in the EnvLightMap tab. Under the MaterialMap tab you must use material_skybox.fx which is found in the Materials folder.

Okay, but what do I do about the error that happens when I load Ray.x? That was the error message I put in the last comment.

If you have Windows 10 use the newer version of MMD.

You get the error as soon as you load Ray.x? Is Ray.x the first thing you load? If that is the case, then it sounds like the file might be corrupted. Try downloading it again. Is MMD working okay? Have you had any other issues with other effects? I use MMD Ver 9.26 (64 Bit).

I am loading ray.x first, and I have tried multiple times of downloading and deleting Raycast.
And I believe my version of MMD is the most recent, 32 bit version. But I could check again.
Also wouldn't know, had an error pop up when I tried to load a hair.fx on a model. If that is what you mean.

Can you use the 64 bit version of MMD? That is what I use. I am not that familiar with the 32 bit version.

Okay. so I attempted to get a 64-bit MMD, which apparently the website for raycast is required. I didn't see that, so I apologize for that.
Nut now, after putting in a DLL file, the same way I did for the 32-bit version, I now get a 0xc000007b error.
Would you know how to fix this?
And if it helps to know, I have Windows 10.

That is a Windows error. Did you get it when tried to open MMD?
See this website for more info on the error:

If you have Windows 10 make sure to use MMD Ver. 9.31 64 Bit. You can download it here:
learnmmd.com/downloads/
Also make sure you have all of this stuff:
・Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64)
・Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64)
・DirectX 9.0c End-User Runtime

So the only thing I seemed to have been missing was the DirectX 9.0c, but I had assumed that I didn't need it because I had DirectX 12.
But if that is all I needed I will test it out.
Do I need to do anything special with the DirectX? Or can I just leave it be?

The direct X releases are independent of each other. In other words, DirectX 12 does not include DirectX9, 10 or 11. Should should be able to just download DirectX 9.0c from the Microsoft website and install it. It does not need anything else to run. I am surprised you were able to get MMD to run at all without DirectX9.

Yeah, people often think I'm joking when I say I can get random things to work like that.
Heck, to get the 32-bit version to work all I had to do was copy a DLL from a Touhou game I had and just change the number at the end.

Some .fx files are incompatible with Raycast Shader. It is possible that the hair effect is conflicting with it.

I just attempted to use that .fx file recently, the problem with ray.x has been happening long before that.

Don't "switch to camera mode to see the result", press TRACK button and depress SELECT button. Your model-view will have the exact same visual as your camera-mode view. This is why my MMD has an extremely accurate lighting and shadows; because I can work on the controllers while looking at the results on the fly.

Your link in the description points to a 404. I found them but maybe others won't.
