Program used - Paint tool Sai.This is just a quick tutorial on how I do soft shading. This is the first one I've ever made, so sorry if its bad IDK.... If you have any questions feel free to ask

I wonder if this could work on adobe illustrator...when I first read the directions it sounded like it did then I read the description.

Thanks for replying. Your tutorial sounds really great and broke it down simply without talking down to the reader the adobe illustrator book that I use talks down to you its almost insulting.

Still don't understand when the appropriate moment is to bring in overlays, my mind just doesn't think that, i've really only painted traditionally most of the time, and sub-par digital work
