Description A bit different Vriska Serket robot arm tutorial: Part 2 - The Colors
~ NO COMMISSIONS ~

Part 1 - The Glove anniina85.deviantart.com/art/V…

OH GOG. This took longer than I expected! I'm sorry for the delay. ;-; traveling, school exams, social life.. you know the drill. But now it's here!

I explained pretty much EVERYTHING in this part, so this might sound like a tutorial for dummies haha. I just wanted to be thorough and explain ALL the pros and cons I went through with this process. ALL OF THEM. I hope this'll be helpful on your own path of Vriska cosplay~ <3

PS: I'd LOVE to see your results! <3

I'm doing this exact same thing, but I sewed the arm to the jacket by the hem on the inside of the shoulder, where the arm meets the torso. :3

aaa. in my case that wouldn't work, the arm would stretch the jacket/shirt with it

This is amazing! I wish I could draw like that xD

Also, I have a question; do you draw the joints and such when your arm/fingers are bent or straight? I'm going to make a robotic arm soon and I just wanted to verify :3

Anniina85 In reply to AlphessoftheWind [2012-03-01 22:02:13 +0000 UTC]

I drew everything with my arm and fingers straight, to let the fabric rest as much as possible to prevent unnecessery stretching.
Thanks hun! <3

Thanks! And I actually have another question. What did you use to sketch out the lines before inking them? Sorry about all the questions, I just want to know how to make one of these without messing up too bad O3o

Anniina85 In reply to AlphessoftheWind [2012-03-02 11:50:03 +0000 UTC]

at first white aquarel pen but then I noticed the lightest grey of the copics works just as fine, after the shading there's no trace of the sketches

I am sure that someone's already asked this, but I don't want to read through 4+ pages of comments...first off, let me say that this is FREAKING BEAUTIFUL! And you make a lovely Vriska. Now, my question is...would it be possible for me to commission this from you? (that wording is a little off, but I think you get what I'm trying to say...?)

Anniina85 In reply to Ariyaunna [2012-03-01 22:09:49 +0000 UTC]

I wish you would, cause the answer is yet again no. : D making your cosplay by yourself is the very point of all this and I made this tutorial to help you with that. aaand this is such a big ass project and I don't wish to profit with such a thing so.. sorry and thanks! <3

Ariyaunna In reply to Anniina85 [2012-03-08 20:02:35 +0000 UTC]

Okay, cool. I'm just a lazy butt so I was wondering if I could make it easier on myself xP
But you're right, it's my cosplay, so I should man (troll?) up and do it myself~

DespoticQueen In reply to ??? [2012-02-22 12:07:37 +0000 UTC]

you just saved my life. but, if I may have a technical question, what can I use instead of copic markers? they're a bit expensive and everything.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Anniina85 In reply to DespoticQueen [2012-02-22 14:55:22 +0000 UTC]

no other marker has such a splendid blending nib so I recommend copics. it's not such a big investment to buy just a couple of them. you can try promarkers but they might be harder to use

the brace will fall from the stretch, it won't work more than a testing round

Wow...you know, the best thing is, it can actually be customized like you want her arm to be. I'm doing a Vriska cosplay and I've been trying to find a good tutorial for the arm and...well, this is perfect. I mean, you went that way with details, but it's amazing how much more anybody can think of doing something else entirely.

Vau, todella mahtavasti oot onnistunut piirtämään ton! Noinkin yksityiskohtanen ja harkittu kokonaisuus. Ainakin ajattelisin et tollaseen materiaaliin olisi hankala alkaa piirtämään noin tarkasti, mutta hienoa jälkeä tulee kun hallitsee homman! :3

This... was so helpful. D: I want to do a Vriska cosplay at SOME point in my life (not sure when) but when I did do her I was going to do something like Ed's arm from FMA. This looks so much simpler and it looks quite nice. c: Thank you for posting!

Wow, this is amazing. You have some serious talent, girl. C: This must have taken forever!

Like some other comments I saw, I'm planning on possibly using this for cosplaying Tavros someday, with the robotic legs. Just out of curiousity, do you think that would work? I don't really know, I'm trying to picture it in my head and it's weird haha. Hmm, I could probably use tights like the ones you got...do you remember where you got those?

It's a lot of random questions, sorry ^^ But yeah. Again, awesome cosplay! The final product looks just amazing. I would love to run into you at a convention somewhere.

Although as Tavros maybe it would be pretty awkward? You would kill me or something orz

Haha, whatever (o:{

This is such a brilliant idea! I've been puzzling over how I was going to make my Vriska arm and if that was going to stop me from being Vriska or not but I saw your picture and my brain just stopped and started worshipping you. Thank you so much for posting this tutorial!! I'm sure mine won't be as beautiful as yours or nearly as complex but It will suffice.
