I really wanted to capture something like this. But you definitely did a better job than anything I could have done. I really love the colors. Great job with such little manipulation.

This is just stunning. The long exposure just makes it - it's very surreal.

Wow..breath taking...I always wanted to see the northern lights...love the colors..the contrast of the mountains..How did you position yourself and camera to take this angle....its perfect and strange...the snow caps mountain int he background...was it low on the ground from a distance...?..love it..going on my favorite..

I was recently told that, due to high sun spot activity, there might be a small chance of a dim aurora being seen from my city within the last couple of nights. I stood out side a number of times but never managed to see anything. Though, of course, I still desire to see one in person, this photograph came off as somewhat relieving for me, so thank you.

Oh my goodness, this is beautiful. I have always wanted to go to Alaska and see the northern lights...my mother has been there and told me it is one heck of a sight. This proves what she said.

Besides the fact that the planet's magnetosphere is being bombarded by highly charged electrons & solar radiation, that is a cool shot!

Beautiful Capture, wish the Northern Lights would show up like that here in Michigan. We only get a glimpse in the winter every couple years or so...

Seriously. No altering in photoshop or something? Here in Sweden you can see northern lights sometimes, but not as amazing as this. Great photo.

So pretty! It makes me want to head north just to get more glimpses like this.. posting something like this is truely a privelage to those who don't live in vicinity of the lights...
They look so puuuurty....
Heh- you can tell how long the exposure was by how far those stars moved! Wow you have patience

I saw these for the first time last October, but didn't have my camera around (or any color film). It was amazing, and I'm down in Ohio, we get the shitty leftovers of what's up north, I can only imagine. Beautiful, it's a shame it has to be long exposure, though. It would be nice to capture the little waves and spikes. You'd need a superfast lens for that, though. Lovely!
