Description   Patreon

Original meant for Tutorial Tuesday but I have a few tutorials backed up so I felt like sharing this one a bit early. Remember you can see all my tutorials as soon as they're finished on my Patreon, as well as private tutorials! Requested pixel tutorial.

My pixel icons and sprites are all done with the pencil tool. 1px brush size. Each step is on their own layer, but you're free to use as many layers as you feel comfortable with C:
If you're curious on how to resize pixels but still keep their hard edges HERE is how you do it. Make sure your bottom drop down is set to Nearest Neighbor & your Pixel dimensions are set to percent.

Finished piece -

Hope this helps!

Enjoy

there is a really good app on android and apple devices called ibis paint, its free and has some really good brushes (also you can use blur to blend and there is layering options) also i forgot to mention FX they have an outter glow effect and a ton more! also for pixel art its pretty good as well!

The deviation title is "Pixel Icon Tutorial" but the tutorial's actual title, on the tutorial is "Anti-Dark-Heart's Pixel Icon Tutorial - For Photoshop CS6". I just couldn't fit that title on DA.

any idea how to remove the background, if i may ask?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AntiDarkHeart In reply to fumstix [2016-08-25 20:21:46 +0000 UTC]

To make it transparent? Just delete the background layer C: Each step is on its own layer (eg. Lineart layer, color layer, shading layer, etc.)
