Description

I feel exhausted, so I'm kind of blanking on what to say   I drilled and filled a tooth on a live patient for the first time ever this past week.  The patient survived and meanwhile, I didn't faint from nervousness   I've also been having some weird, itchy, skin condition all winter until now.  Combined with the nerves, I didn't sleep all too well this week, but crocheting has kept me sane through all the bumps of dental school

Anyway, enough of that, Eevee is all done!!  I hope you all like her (I decided to make this one a "she" )!  As usual, please credit me should you use or manipulate this pattern and please be respectful and don't sell the finished product since I don't own the character!  Happy crocheting!

My eevee is ready to be assembled and felted!
Question though. Do you felt before or after assembly? and are the inside of the ears needle felted too?

I'm trying to make this cute little one here, but I'm kind of being clueless where to attach every parts of the body together. Could you give me an advice about attaching them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

aphid777 In reply to fuyunocho [2015-03-02 00:43:20 +0000 UTC]

I would lay everything on a flat surface and pin the pieces together before sewing them on.  Usually, I like to sew the head and body together first.  Then, I usually position the limbs against the body on a flat surface, pin, and sew in place.  I hope that helps!

Hi, I've never needle felted before and I was wondering if you think some black buttons would be cute for the eyes. I've used them before in some of my other creations but with this eevee I didn't know whether or not it would make it look kinda creepy As for the black part of the ear and the tail, I have enough experience to just crochet those normally

aphid777 In reply to Sempiternal712 [2015-01-31 18:52:17 +0000 UTC]

I think black button eyes would absolutely work This is not quite the same, but I think it might look similar to this: Eeve crochet doll .

Sempiternal712 In reply to aphid777 [2015-02-01 04:09:06 +0000 UTC]

That is so adorable, but I was actually thinking about button buttons if you know what im saying. Things you would see on Tim Burton's creations. And I absolutely loved the way I got to make the mane for Eevee. It was fun and I now know a new trick to make hair and such. On a side note, the Eevee is for my boyfriend on Valentines day since it's his favorite Pokemon. Out of all the different patterns I've searched, yours is by far the best and I plan on making all the different evolutions using your patterns for him Thank you so much.

Oooh!  Well, I kind of like that Tim Burton style  I think it would be a cute-creepy look, but I think it can be pulled off.  If you decide to go with that, I'd love to see how it turns out!  I'm glad the pattern worked out and you learned a new trick, too  You have a very lucky boyfriend; I hope he loves it!

Just wondering, have you ever though about making a short video showing yourself needle felting the eyes on? I've looked all over youtube and there really isn't a video for needle felting onto crochet. So at this point, I'm just gonna try and hope I don't mess up my project lol

aphid777 In reply to Sempiternal712 [2015-03-08 17:13:55 +0000 UTC]

I'm not much of a video person, but I might consider it someday I couldn't find any videos either.. Just tried it out and luckily it worked! Maybe you can practice on a crocheted and stuffed sphere before trying it on a final project to get the feel of it?

shivu2738 [2014-12-17 04:37:05 +0000 UTC]

So cute! For the tail did you switch colors and then needlefelt the tan on top, or did you just use the brown all the way and needlefelt the entire white tail tip?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

aphid777 In reply to shivu2738 [2015-01-07 23:39:29 +0000 UTC]

Sorry for such a late response!  I switched colors and then needle felted more white on top of the brown

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

aphid777 In reply to LaurAchnid [2015-01-07 23:38:23 +0000 UTC]

Sorry for the late reply!  I think I used "warm brown", Red Heart Supersaver brand?  I think that was the name of the brown.. there's a limited number of browns in the brand.  I also used an off-white color in the same brand for the tail and mane.

I'm so glad you've decided to pick up crocheting because of this!  I don't think the pattern should be too difficult, but I do assume that you have some knowledge in the abbreviations and in assembly.  Other than that, I don't think it should be too difficult for a beginner

Shockabooie In reply to aphid777 [2014-12-19 03:49:57 +0000 UTC]

Hi! Your eeveelutions are sooooo adorable!! I'm going to try to attempt to make a few for my friends! I was wondering did you use and kind of needle shaping on the heads or bodies after they were stuffed? The heads are so nicely shaped I'm just wondering if it needed a little tweaking to hold so well!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

aphid777 In reply to nikoleevonn [2014-10-25 08:06:13 +0000 UTC]

Nope, I didn't use any needle shaping on the head afterwards.  In the pattern, I include subtle emphasis on the cheeks and nose area to create that head shape  I'm very glad that you noticed!
