Description First off, this pattern is incomplete.  I was not able to write proper instructions for the tail, just a really rough one that I have posted in my scraps here: fav.me/d74nhwc  I apologize for that, but I hope the notes I have will help!

I don't know if I'm completely happy with how Pikachu's face turned out.. I don't think he looks quite accurate, but it was difficult balancing accuracy with a similar style to the other three.  The ears are floppy on purpose because I like floppy ears  Eyes and other details are needle felted, though I'm sure regular cut out felt or embroidering will work too.   Let me know if you catch any errors!  Hope you guys have a great weekend and happy crocheting!

Arms:

**For optional fingers, include puff stitches.  Otherwise, ignore the slip stitches and puff stitches and just do single crochet stitches.

Puff stitch:
Do 3 incomplete double crochet stitches (all but the last step of the double crochet stitch) into the same stitch.   You should have 4 loops on your hook at this point.  Yarn over and draw the yarn through all 4 loops to complete.  Make sure  to tighten this stitch as much as you can before continuing to prevent holes from forming.

I'm really glad they're understandable!  That's usually what I'm worried about most about my patterns, whether people can understand the gibberish I'm spouting out

Hey, can you tell me what you mean by like 'The FO point should be in the midline of the underside of the arm' and what not? I know FO means Fasten Off, but I just don't understand by what you mean by they should be in the midline of the underside of the arm or midline of the underside of the body.

And also, not that I'm complaining, but I think I spotted a small mistake, when making the body. In round seven you said to crochet around eight times, so wouldn't be like round seven through fourteen? Like,

7-14: Crochet in each sc around. (40)

15: Sc 6, dec, sc 6, dec,sc 3, dec, sc 3, dec, sc 6, dec, sc 6 (35)

Just curious! I love this amigurumi by the ways!

Thanks for the catch!  I've updated the correction

As for the FO point, I was just specifying where it should be to help in the construction.  So when I say midline of the underside of the arm/body, I just mean that when you're putting it together, the place where you've fastened off should be centered on the bottom side of the arm/body.  I hope that makes sense.. I'm not too sure how else to explain it..

suggestion for the tail, which is what i did, felting over the yarn base makes it a little stronger, and also neatens it up a bit.

WOW! This is amazing! I cannot get enough of your work!  It looks so cute and so realistic. How do you do the eyes? I really want to try this! ^^ I did a squirtle by myself once. it was really cute, but nothing compared to your work! you´re amazing!  I am working now at a micro totoro with a 1,0 mm hook. it´s really tricky. after that I´ll try your pikachu. But please tell me how you do the eyes. ^^
(sorry for my english. It´s not my native language and i am a bit out of training)

kind regards Ani

Thanks!  The eyes are made of wool roving that has been needle felted onto the surface.  There are a lot of tutorials on YouTube if you're not familiar with this technique.

That is a tiny Totoro you're working on!  I would imagine that it's tricky!

Your patterns are sooooo amazing and your workmanship is really great, thank you so much for sharing. I've been looking on the internet for patterns of other stuff and most of the amigurumi just don't look that great to me. Keep up the good work and once again thanx for sharing!

The chocobo is pretty time-consuming because of those pieces!  I wanted to make several more of different colors, but after that first one, I figured I'd had enough  SOMEDAY.  I will make more

lilkittyg In reply to ??? [2014-03-13 11:22:26 +0000 UTC]

Do you stuff the pieces, close them up and then attach them or do you stuff them and attach and the attachment sorta works as closing them up...if that makes sense. <.<

aphid777 In reply to lilkittyg [2014-03-16 00:55:02 +0000 UTC]

It depends on which pieces.  I guess I never specified  For limbs, I leave them open and just sew them onto the body.  For the head and body, I close those pieces up.  Hope that helps!

For Step 7 of the body it says Sc around 8 times. (40)  Does that mean there's actually 24 rows? Or is it supposed to be just one Sc around for 40 stitches?

Hey there! I noticed a slight inconsistency in the feet, row 5. It says we're supposed to have 18 stitches, but whenever I count up the actual stitches I have 17.

I've taken out one of the decreases in that row to fix it up,but I wanted to let you know about it. c:
