Great tutorial, and amazing artwork! I like that it is about the creative process instead of literally how to draw. I will definitely try these techniques. Thanks a bunch, and keep it up!

This is great. I could easily see a tutorial on something like this going very very wrong, but somehow you have hit it so well. This may end up being one of the most useful tutorials I've ever read, and I look forward to trying out your methods.

Are you you mean "can't" be learned? You seem to suggest that it's impossible to become more creative, and then offer tools for exactly that... becoming more creative.

I tend to suspect that you mean "can" as you've always struck me as being one of those people who believes that anyone can learn to do anything if they stick with it.

Otherwise, fantastic tutorial.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AquaSixio In reply to exquisiteoath [2010-09-20 18:58:04 +0000 UTC]

You are right, this word isn't appropriate. But it was hard for me to speak about the inconscious side of the creativity. It's hard to learn something "inconscious ", that's why I said " can't " but I hope it will develop the creativity

I would say, there isn't " recipe " to be creative, even if I did a tutorial, we need more than the tools I used. Moreover, it's really hard to describe how a new idea comes in my head, and the different unconscious process.

Actually I had a good discussion with my phycology teacher over art. He asked if art was a skill or a trait. I ended up saying nether. Art is a journey, you can get guidance but you have to make that journey yourself. I think it's because art is rooted in our perceptions and we all develop our perceptions independently of each other as children when we wire our brains.

AquaSixio In reply to VoipComics [2013-01-10 20:11:08 +0000 UTC]

It's strange, I didn't remember when I wrote the previous comment.
Anyways, I agree with your " journey " pointof view, and the necessary " loneliness " to discover the " true " version of " art "
This is a nice quest !

exquisiteoath In reply to AquaSixio [2010-09-20 19:09:40 +0000 UTC]

I wonder if "Creativity must begin somewhere, and I can't teach that; but..." might make more sense, It's a little more wordy but I think it captures what you're trying to say in your comment?
