I thought I'd upload the photo of the completed torc so you can compare the part finished with the finished ... it tooka while to get the edging right ... but I'm now happy with it ... the bottom 'heart dangler' is the same as the one on the adjustable links at the back, but I forgot to put it the right way round!Related content

Damn... that must have taken weeks to finish. It looks awsome though and shows your skill and effort placed into the piece. Very nice over all, but why not just take a second picture with the dangle heart right way up and post that one?

It took quite a long time to do, though I was on a tight schedule ... I think it was around 30 hours work in total.
I no longer have the torc - it was given to Macmillan Cancer Research to auction to raise money, and it raised £200 I think.

That's cool. I dont think I could spend that much time on any one project. I lack the ability to focus for that long.

Why thank you for saying so ... and I gave outline instructions in reply to a comment made about the Laryngectomee Society Torc.
Be warned, it's fiddly, fussy, time-consuming work. That torc to between 30 and 40 hours of work. I made the felt backing myself ... and well .. it worked out just fine in the end!

This is beautiful. I've never seen anything like this. I love the extravagance, the peacock colors, and the details of this piece. I would like to see how this lays on someone's neck.

What a gorgeous piece. What did you use for the 3 strands of beads?
(I mean, how do they support the weight of the torc?)

The torc is surprisingly light, believe it or not. The bead strands have doubled -up invisible nylon thread inside them ... which is certainly strong enough and yet flexible.
