A 'repaint' I did using the Instructions for RiD Stormjet/TFU Skywarp that were included with the toy, that my friend ~SigmaCore scanned for me.Here’s the next entry for the “Gestalt Project” Aerialbots, Fireflight. This one is a bit of a disappointment, and I’ll tell you why. This could have been so much better. On that scale of 1-4, he would, sadly, be the 2. What’s worst, is that I think these colors REALLY work well with this toy, and it looks like a damn good rendition of Fireflight. He could have been another 3, or possibly even a 4. But it’s just his damn lineart’s fault. He unfortunately suffers from what ALL TF Beast Era toy instructions do. His line art is just so undetailed, that it’s to the point it looks bad. A damn shame really, cause if you ignore the lack of details, and try to picture these colors on the actual toy, it would be a sweet repaint. Oh well. I suppose I’ll hafta live with this the way it is. As much as I’d love to, I just can’t duplicate all the missing details of this mold on the line art.

Pretty sweet repaint there, Assey. Even with the semi-crappy lineart.
It does indeed look a whole lot like Fireflight, but one thing I don't get is the baby blue. Why?

Cause Fireflight was made up of only two colors, whereas jetstorm has...if i remember corectly, 6 diffrent color mold trees. (though no repaint has utilized all 6 to date). I had to throw in some extra colors, hence the silvery grey, and sky blue, which matches his wing decals (he also had these a few places on his bot mode too). It was that or the yellow, and believe me, the blue looked better. (though maybe yellow would have been a bit more apropriate for FIREflight, hmm.)

Plain basic yellow, no. An orangy yellow that actually looks like it's 'flame colored', yes.

But then we would be straying from his G1 counterpart. BELIEVE me Siggy, there are SO many times when i want to stray just a little bit, JUST to make something look a little better, but for my G1 homages, i just can't bring myself to do it. WORST case scenario of this is coming up on monday...*shudders*

S'ok, you had a lot on your plate at the time, heh. I managed to make do with the pics I found on the internet. Still sucks though. I emmulated Optimus Primal's paint scheme exactly, and it still looks really shitty on my repaint (not that it was beautiful or anything on the original, heh). But with the line art missing so many "defining" lines, and the fact that the colors are so opposing, and my paint apps don't blend well (ALL the figures silver/gold paint apps have that airbrushed blending that i can't do.) my version looks like a pile of poo, heh. I fully believe that if theactual figure was done in Blot colors, it would look nice as hell, and be a definitive Blot, but with my meager skills and what I had to work with, it just came out horribly sub par.

...Speaking of which, I should probably get started on the rest of the team, heh. I still only have a rough draft of Rippersnapper and haven't even touched the line art for Hun-Grrr yet...
