Description
So here's how I made the hand for all those who asked. And here's the finished product in motion

mistake caught! it's actually 52 eye bolts!
edit*
and for all those who will or have asked. It cost me under $50 Canadian to build. I don't know what it would cost in American as I don't live there, have the same stores, or really care. but you can just use google to convert the currency and give yourself a ballpark figure.

This is pretty awesome. I like the fact that this is made entirely from easily attainable items. One trip to Lowe's/HomeDepot/etc.. would do it.

um i actually used steel plating (you can get at home depot in like roofing or with eaves) it's only about 1/8" thick so it bends well, but it's strong

That's pretty awesome. Similar to those cheap plastic extendo-hands at Toys-R-Us, but much more stylish.
Although, I can't imagine that it'd have much practical griping ability... Possible suggestion to anyone who might want to make this: Add 1/2 inch circular rubber pads to the fingertips. Something like a jar opener would work well.

originally i planned on lining the inside of the finger tips with more leather, but i wasn't planning on really picking anything up...although it's been used to pick up coke cans with success.

Yeah, leather would fit better with the style.
