Description
Still improving on my 'bone in' jointed armature. With great success. This is my AK Lynx, Sno-Shu. He's been a wip for a while. I just haven't had the time to sit down and REALLY work on him, much-less anything else. Only his rear legs are finished. His front legs will have scapula, elbows, wrists and foot joints. And all 4 legs will be heavily weighted. He will also boast an actual full soft ribcage and spine that can be felt when he's stroked, and I will give him just enough armature for him to hold his head up. He will be containment weighted over the length of his body.

I must get a soft-mounted lynx done by you.... oh my goodness. You're one of my favorite, if not my favorite taxidermists ever ;w; especially when it comes to soft mounts <3. I've been looking around to see if I can find a lynx pelt and then get it soft mounted, I just absolutely love Canadian lynx <3. It'd probably be the only soft mount I'd ever get unless I wanted to mount my bunny when she passes, soft mounted bunnies can be the most adorable X3 <3. Not to mention money plays a role... I could probably get one for Christmas, you do have that premade one coming up for sale right? Maybe I'll look into that X3 <3
I've mulled over this for quite some time actually 'XD been about a year or two since I started seriously thinking about it. I've always thought they were beautiful and amazing. Having them be able to move seems more... life-like to me. Especially with this armature, sometimes I see them and they look like pillows o-o; like stuffed sausages. You really put the life back into them though <3 I greatly admire your work. Absolutely amazing X3 <3

Thank you sooooo VERY much for ALL of your kind compliments. But I don't know if I'll have the time to finish the little gal lynx premade b4 x-mas. I am busting butt trying to find the time to finish up a current gray fox commission that's already been paid in full. Their just aren't enough hours in a day anymore! D:

X3 Don't mention it <3. It's fine, I understand not having enough time to do everything you want to do 'XD. When you do finish her though, whenever that may be, if I have the money there won't be a doubt in my mind whether to get her or not X3 <3.

That's so cool- what did you use to make the armature? Especially the ribcage.

Oh this is just wonderful! Your are truly improving with each mount.I love the second photo, it looks like a real lynx leg O_O. May I ask what materials you are using for the joints?

Can you do this to an animal that's already been soft-mounted?

I suppose, but not without undoing what had already been done. I really do need to start from scratch. And hydration of the legs is almost always a must in order to ensure a good closure, hidden stitches, and properly fitting armature and non bunching stuffing. It's not just a case of 'sticking' armature in there - it's started from the foot to suit each individual pelt, and join area, and goes to the shoulder. So, I'd/u'd have to undo, and redo each leg.

Thank you so very much!!!! Yeah, I like it better because their is no mystery as to where a non jointed leg should bend. It's there, and it stays put, and looks far more natural then my firsts. XD They can be bend 'on their own,' and in this cats case, (when he's done) if you were to hold him up under his armpits, making his rear legs 'support his weight' his legs should bend properly under the pressure. It takes little to no effort to get his joints to flex.

Creativity should come before vacumming, dishes, and even laundry. I can be artistic in the nude! So, what gives?!

Oh wow, looking great! Looks almost alive in the legs, best I've seen yet! Is stuff like this included in your commissions or is it extra? I would love Seven to have something like this!
(By the way, I must say I LOVE your blue carpet..I know that's random, but I've always loved darker carpets. xD)

Oh my gosh! D: I am so sorry about not replying to your note! Shame-shame-SHAME on me... it's still in my 'view all messages' area... I hope to get to it b4 my battery dies. (hurries up)
Any time I improve, I apply that to all new plushes, if it can be done.(depends on the pelt) So, if you wanted armature, you'll get the latest form of it. XD
LOL, seriously!! I love the carpet too! Good color, good durability!

It's okay, I figured you were most likely busy. ^^ But I'm glad to hear I can get this great armature! I think Seven would look great with it! But yes, as I said in my note, I've got a bit for Seven's deposit waiting for you! ^^ And I'm hoping to get some more by the end of this week. =3 And I found the eyes I want to to be put with him, they are the same as on this fox: [link]
They are blue-gray tohickon eyes. =3
Lol right now my place as beige carpets..I'm so sick of beige! lol I want blue like yours, lighter carpets are so hard to keep clean when you have two long haired cats that have dark cats! At least my dog is over half white. xD

My dog Shannon is white, and I have 5 cats. I have to vacuum daily, and sometimes twice because you can clearly see Shannons fur on it... but I love the color and durability. The color is calming, and goes with a LOT of colors, and the durability is simply amazing. The carpet is at least 12 years old!
I don't think berbor would hold up this long, and lighter colors are hard to keep clean in any kind of carpet. When it comes time to replace it, I may go for blue again! XD

I have to vacuum every day as well, and the sad thing is, I don't even have the bigger, shaggy cat living with me at the moment, that cat is over 30lbs and shed and ate enough to have 3 cats! xD I'm hoping when I get him again I'll have a house with darker carpets. I believe the darkest color carpet I've had a shaggy dark brown with darker brown designs through it, I LOVED that carpet, and it was like a brown version of the blue carpet I had growing up, which I also loved, maybe that's why I'm so fond of blue carpets now. xD That's good that it's durable, I know my family has this cheap, crappy carpet that the two dogs have run through, and have even taken bit of loose carpet and ate chunks of carpet! Ugh, I hated that house and glad I don't live there anymore, it was small, dark and dreary, there were little windows or light, and EVERYTHING, the ceiling, doors, walls, and carpet were all shades of brown! It was like living in a cave. >.<
