Description

UB – 05 Glutton, given the name Guzzlord internally as shorthand by staff until ultimately becoming the creatures official name used in public documents during declassification. The most prominent feature of this beast is its gaping maw, from which two long tendrils capped with claws protrude. The working theory is that these long tendrils have evolved from a secondary and tertiary tongue used for grasping in place of the vestigial arms which hang weakly at the sides of its rotund body. The primary tongue's base remains fused to the bottom of the jaw, moving in a wave-like motion to force prey and other food items deeper into its mouth. The interior of the mouth itself is lined with sharp spines called papillae, in addition with the ability to compress the interior of its large mouth, these hard sharp spines ensure a one-way trip for anything unfortunate enough to enter. At the back of its throat a pair of large, grinding radulae are present which grind its food to shredded bits before moving into the digestive system.

First discovered on a routine drone investigation of a newly emerged Ultra Wormhole, the discovery held what may be far greater implications. Rather than entering into a holey new universe, as had been observed with UB – 01, UB – 02 and other documented Ultra Beast accounts, the wormhole ended in what seemed to be a future or alternate reality. The drone was expelled into a crumbling concrete remains of what seemed to be Hau'oli City of Melemele, an island located in the Alola island chain. Drone sensors indicated that the air itself held a lethal level of radiation among other toxins, however a single survivor was found within the ruins wearing protective gear which appeared to have been decorated to resemble UB – 05, further information on this individual is unavailable. Within these ruins was UB – 05, found amongst piles of collected food and toxic waste, which it was consuming indiscriminately. Despite this assortment of toxic chemicals and rubbish, the creature appeared unphased by its intake. In an effort to study its digestive process an attempt was made to collect a fecal sample; however, the creature appears to not defecate, it is currently theorized that UB – 05 expels waste from its body in the form of gasses and skin excretions.

With no known home world, it is unclear the survival conditions UB – 05 must face in nature, however available studies suggest that the planet of origin for Guzzlord contains a chlorinated atmosphere. The soft tissues of the body have been described as thick and rubbery like a car tire, and tissue studies show that the cell walls are highly chemical resistant. This thick rubbery skin would serve as both protection against attackers and protection against harmful ultraviolet radiation, as such a planet would lack an ozone layer. Hard tissues are composed of plastics such as Polyethylene, which Guzzlord is capable of breaking down within its digestive system along with man-made plastics which it has been seen consuming. The chlorine present in its body allows it to break down limestones and corrode metals which it has been seen consuming along with plastics on a regular basis. Guzzlord appears to suffer no ill effects from the differing atmospheric composition, though the vast quantities of food it consumes may be a sign of some stress or deficiency in its diet.

A unique coloration has been reported by civilians during the Alolan Pokémon Championships, while physical descriptions match that of a typical Guzzlord, the colors appear quite different. Reports state the discovered Guzzlord possesses a pale white complexion and darker, more orange “lips” and markings.
