Description
Ultra-Wormhole activity had been increasing to a concerning degree, however all recon missions to the entry sites provided negative contact. Nothing in, nothing out, it isn’t unusual to have wormholes opening to reveal nothing within, however, the frequency of these extradimensional portals appearing had become a concern. While the Poipole are normally playful and curious, durring one evening they had become agitated and frightened, likely sensing what was to come. In an instant an electromagnetic pulse rendered the facility offline as an Ultra wormhole flashed into existence, sheering the northern wall of the building, pulling debris into the unknown and collapsing what remained of the walls it has appeared within. With no time for staff to secure the Poipole, the panicked Pokémon took off through the opening created by the anomaly, escaping into the wilds of Ula’Ula island.
Attempts to recapture the escaped Poipole and turned up fruitless. Their proximity to the wormhole having fried their tracking chips and now they could be anywhere on the island, if not already in the possession of a trainer or potentially even dead. Separate efforts to track them down were run by both the facility and the caretaker, a Doctor Susan O’Grady, who had grown attached to both Poipole. Though no progress was made, reports of a purple and white pair of Pokémon would occasionally surface in the Mount Lanakila area keeping hopes bright that they would be found before something were to happen.
After some months, wormhole activity continued to mount, and what was thought to be a newly discovered ultra-beast praying on Pokémon near the base of the mountain was eventually found to be the adult stage of both Poipole. Both Subjects had constructed a hivelike burrow located near the base of Mount Lanakila with several entrances leading to a main chamber. Additional support appears to have been made from a combination of saliva, plant fiber and their own adhesive poison, creating a glossy, almost pearlescent inner chamber. Both subjects now given the name UB-07 Stinger, or Naganadel, appear to return to this location each night where they share communally in consuming their acquired prey. No eggs have been located on the site indicating that the two have not become a mating pair, possibly because they were raised as a single clutch together. Both Naganadel appear to have grown elongated forelimbs and digits, becoming wings, and their hindlimbs taking on the tasks of locomotion as well as grasping, similarly to birds of prey. Their tail has thickened and produced an enlarged stinger made from modified scale, the stinger does not appear to detach as seen with Beedrill, however the venom injected appears far more potent given its size. Above the stinger two cerci, sensory appendages which appear to be mostly used to sense vibration, air pressure and wind currents while flying, it is however unknown how sensitive these structures are. It is likely that on their home world they play a role analogous to our own vespoid Pokémon, and are likely use to defending themselves against megafauna several times their own size.
Contact was made by their original caretaker under guard for their safety, while initially defensive, both were quick to remember their upbringing. Doctor O’Grady described the interaction as a heartfelt reunion as both had begun making high pitch chirping noises, and made an effort to try and play with the doctor, despite their vast increase in size. Due to their seeming inability to produce offspring and relative isolation, Doctor O’Grady suggested they be placed under strict observation and are to be immediately recaptured in the event either subject become fertile or a threat to the nearby population. For the time being, the task is to observe them in a natural environment with as little interference as possible.
-NOTICE-
The secondary subject, originally a pale white and yellow coloration appears to have shifted to a vibrant yellow with black stripes.
