Description

After several weeks and many discrete phone calls regarding the private information leaked via an informant within the Aether foundation, we were in turn, finally contacted by a member of Interpol, an agent going by what can only be assumed to be a codename, Looker. The agent arranged for a meeting between those of us in leadership positions within the Ultra-Space Observation Taskforce, upon meeting with the man at what will remain an undisclosed location, he began debriefing ups on the situation. While the Aether Foundations' actions are isolated to the Alola region, Ultra Wormholes have been reported as far away as the Crown Tundra in Galar, where a small team of scientists researching a phenomenon called “Galar Partacles” have been savagely attacked by a large, violent creature, with a pitch-black crystalline carapace. This description matched the very creature the Recon Squad from beyond the Ultra Wormholes had been seeking information about. Supposedly the creature was hunting, as a small house had been demolished, the few delicate remains of an unidentified Pokémon which the family had been caring for had been strewn about the wreckage. When its hunt had ended it reportedly reopened an Ultra Wormhole, vanishing inside in an instant.

After hinting at personal reasons for wishing to get involved, he went on to explain that these wormholes have been sighted over the past several years, reports of blue-skinned humanoids emerging from within or humans from other realities entirely being spat out. These individuals had been given the title “Fallers”, people whose entire lives were uprooted in an instant, often suffering memory loss from the trauma of unprotected interdimensional travel. Interpol as well as many governing regions around the world have taken to locating and assisting in the integration of these individuals into society so that they may continue their lives in some semblance of peace. (Entry note: One can only hope that individuals such as Professor Mohn were half as lucky to be found in the infinity of space and time, I couldn’t even begin to imagine.)

Through the combined efforts of Agent Looker, several of his fellow agents and the local police force a successful raid was undertaken, on the Aether Foundation. The entire facility locked down, agents loyal to Branch Manager Faba attempted to hold the line, but ultimately were unable to stand against the forces mustered by the Interpol agents and Alola’s finest. Through their hard work we were able to apprehend Faba and several loyalists within the foundation. Turning control over to the Assistant Branch Chief, Ms Wicke provided us with information, expressing her concern that Faba may have initially been behind the disappearance of Professor Mohn, a concern mirrored by our informant... Within the labs we were able to rescue dozens of Pokémon which had been held for experimentation, including the subjects of Project RKS, of which several appear to have been made, though not all were present. Possibly most importantly of all, we recovered a small black box roughly a foot and a half across which, when opened contained a UB mentioned within the leaked Aether Foundation Reports, a Cosmog.

Returning to the facility the small Pokémon was placed under close observation, though in a form of stasis while contained within the pod it appeared weak, though after some time began to levitate within its temporary housing, hugging the walls as it aimlessly meandered the area. Scans show the creature possesses a weak, primitive, psionic field, generated by the soft nucleus located at the center of its main body. This field allows it to levitate its light body, and selectively pull dust and gasses from the atmosphere into itself. As it continues to feed on these particles its body becomes denser and its psionic powers appear to increase to match. Its outer membrane is composed of a thing malleable sheet of dusts, metals, and its own psychic power, while it appears to be moist as a cell wall would, it is dry and soft, similar to a fine silk in texture. As the Cosmog continues to feed it begins to generate a unique alloy coloration which appears to act as armor as it reaches its next stage of life.

Our researchers believe the Cosmog to be a form of void-based ecology, life that is capable of thriving within the vacuum of space unhindered. While unsure of how they came to be originally, perhaps some form or virus or single celled organism mutated by the radiation of deep space. Its psychic powers utilized for feeding on cosmic dust and metals, these particles are absorbed into its body, occasionally metals become embedded in its membranous exterior. It is unknown how it will mature as it feeds within an environment containing gravity, however for now it’s ability to counteract the gravitational pull of the planet appears adequate enough to fulfill its needs. While capable of suspending itself in mid-air, the slightest interaction such as touch or the breeze of a fan, causes it to float slowly similar to an object being pushed in zero-gravity.

The daughter of the Aether Foundations' President appeared to have escaped with another Cosmog some months ago before the events leading to her mother’s hospitalization, given what we know, it is possible that her own Cosmog became the large creature which aided them in Lusamine’s rescue.
