Biology of Solgaleo

UB-13 Sol also known as Solgaleo as a quadrupedal masculine counterpart to the more feminine Lunala. While extraterrestrial in origin, just as Lunala resembles Chiropterans such as Zubat and Golbat, Solgaleo bears a striking physical resemblance to the Pokemon, Pyroar, albeit on a far larger scale.

This metamorphic form of Cosmog and Cosmoem appears to be adapted for terrestrial survival, using its size and tremendous physical strength to bring down prey. However, its physical abilities do not appear to be it's only capabilities. Much like Lunala, Solgaleo undergoes a form of natural internal nuclear fission. How Solgaleo and Lunala manage this evolutionarily is extraordinary enough, however the amount of radiation expelled from their bodies due to this process is well below what is deemed safe. This efficient internal power source drives it’s very being, just as chemical reactions fuel our own lives, allowing it to devote a large amount of said energy to fuel its psychokinetic powers.

Just as Cosmog, Cosmoem, Lunala and Necrozma, these beings appear capable of manipulating matter and energy with specialized psychic powers. While Necrozma and Lunala appear adapted for photokinesis, an especially rare form of psychic capability, Solgaleo supplements its strength and speed through kinetikinesis. Additionally Solgaleo can use this power to reduce physical damage which is further aided by it’s metallic exoskeleton. Combined its “Full Metal Body” allows it to maintain control in combat even against a significantly powerful target.

The exoskeleton of Solgaleo's entire body is composed of metals, from its exoskeletal plates, to its teeth, to it’s hairs which are almost wire-like. The entire body appears can be agitated using it’s kinetic powers, exciting every atom in its body to the point it created a brilliant light capable of illuminating its surroundings. While in this “Radiant Sun” Phase a physical distortion appears on the transparent membrane of its head, this “third eye” also appears in Lunala, signifying its heightened state of psychokinetic power. In this state both appear to be capable of generating punctures in space-time, generating Ultra-Wormholes.

Carvings found at the Altar of the Sunne depict a large creature of similar description posed with it’s mouth clutching a star between its teeth. Solgaleo was once known as “The Beast that Devours the Sun” by the ancient indigenous people who constructed these ruins on Poni Island in Alola.

Story:

My heart had caught in my throat, dust from Lunala’s battle hanging heavy in the air, and landing before us atop a Naganadel was Phyco. “Run!” I yelled out to the others and I lunged forward with the baton in hand, taking a swing at the Naganadel’s neck as my colleagues scattered into the surrounding brush, disappearing into the wild. The swing connected but I was met with a swipe of its claw throwing me back down, it had torn into my arm, I could still move it but I was hurt and bleeding a significant amount.

Phyco began some rant, some megalo-maniacle monolog, like he's never seen a Saturday morning cartoon before, which may be true honestly. Regardless, thinking back, I don't remember what he was railing on about, something about restoring the “Blinding One” to his former brilliance, undoing past sins. I was too busy trying to find a way out of this mess when again the Naganadel swung at me, I was able to lean back out of its reach in time but as I fell backwards it reared up into a position where its stinger would be able to reach me with its next strike.

That should have been the end of it but before it struck the sound of screaming rang out, followed by a sputtering flash of prismatic light shining through the trees startling the Naganadel long enough for me to get further away from it, but when I turned I saw up close for the first time what had destroyed the ultra-spacian’s base of operations at the Altar of the Sunne, Necrozma.

The large imposing crystalline figure was bracing itself against the trees, as a faint iridescent glow flickered from deep within it’s almost opaque black body. Likely drawn to the energy being expelled by Lunala in its fight against Blacephalon it paused only for the briefest moment before continuing to clamer through the tight treeline in an attempt to get past us. While it pulled itself through the trees and shoved itself past me, I saw it, on the front right side of it’s upper cephalothorax, where the multicolored crystalline brain was exposed on this twisted creature, a hole. Running deep into the crystal structure at an angle, too smooth to be of natural causes, it looked like a botched lobotomy.

Was this why it moved in such jerking motions? Why was it barely able to support its own body without appearing to collapse in on itself? As it shambled past me in the direction of the lab, or rather Lunala and Blacephalon I was tackled from the back by Phyco who proceeded to dig his fingers into the slash on my arm until my grip relaxed on the container and he pulled it from me. I stood to give chase but was struck down by a swing of the container, hitting me hard in the shoulder before he mounted back on Naganadel. It was harder for it to take off in the trees than it was for it to land, but it didn't give me enough time to grab on or wrestle the container away again. I had lost Cosmoem, I didn't have a clue what they wanted to use it for or why it was so important but it had to do with Necrozma, I just have to catch up to them.

I had to stop this bleeding first, I grabbed my sweater from my waist and threw it to the ground, holding it down under my weight, I pulled the sleeve until it tore off. Biting one end I tied it as tight as I could around the slash to staunch the bleeding. With that taken care of I took off as fast as my legs would carry me through the trees back in the direction I have come from. The sound of the battle was still raging in the distance, keeping Blacephalon around was a good decision after all, or I would likely already have been dead. Finally I had left the tree line, but I was too late, Naganadel had landed some ways in front of Necrozma and Phyco was walking towards that crystalline Ultra Beast.

He spoke softly to it, as though he were trying to console a friend, I was too far to hear what It was he had to say but he moved his hand to the top of the container and in a quick flash Cosmoem was released, only it wasn't Cosmoem, it was something else. Its metamorphosis had completed and now stood a large chrome quadrupedal lifeform, what we now know as Solgaleo.

Almost immediately Solgaleo attacked Necrozma, the grinding of crystals being pressed right against one another as Necrozma tried to push Solgaleo off, piercing to the ear even at my distance. Solgaleo bit and slashed with its claws, flakes of Necrozma’s crystal body scattering around with each attack’s impact. Necrozma managed to finally wind up on top at which point it appeared to be syphoning energy off of Solgaleo as tendrils of matter began to thread off of Solgaleo and into the prismatic body of it’s aggressor. Solgaleo flashed into a brightly glowing form, its very being flickering with energy as it blew Necrozma back. Solgaleo immediately charged the creature, ramming it at a far higher speed than would be expected of a creature it’s size, throwing it further yet again.

Phyco panicked, he began to yell out for Lunala which had been busy defending itself from Blacephalon, he called it away to defend Necrozma. With that we suddenly had a destructive four-way battle between these alien creatures, but the tides would quickly change. Almost immediately Necrozma had changed its target to Lunala, clearly sensing it’s weakened state after struggling with Blacephalon for so long. It mustered what strength it could and propelled itself into the air as Lunala made a fly-by attack, managing to grab hold of the winged beast, tendrils of energy emerged from the beast as Necrozma dug its claws into Lunala. Together they fell to the ground, Lunala struggling to remove it’s attacker but it was almost as though it had been glued to the creature’s back. There was a flash of blinding light and once my vision had returned to me, flying above the battlefield was a corrupted abomination of what had once been Lunala, now setting its sights on Solgaleo.
