So, I've been approached by Late Knight Games for an opportunity to design some of the monsters for their game, a tabletop pokemon and D&D love child called Majimonsters. Specifically, for their newest Halloween expansion to the game, the Faces of Fear, which in fact, was just released today! To celebrate this occasion, what better way than to share what I've been working on these past few weeks with you all? Hope you guys like it!

I've worked on five of the monsters for the halloween expansion, each one of them based on a common halloween monster trope, with Ghostlight being based around Jack O' Lanterns.
Ghostlight is a ghastly monster that sets crops ablaze so it can then consume their ashes as sustenance. If somehow defeated, it vanishes in a fiery explosion while a chilling laughter echoes in the air.
My main problem designing it was not to make it TOO generic, as Jack o' Lantern monsters can be found aplenty in every game or media out there. The little pumpkin mouths ended up overdesigning it a little bit, but I was too fond of their weirdness to remove them. Since these monsters are not fakemons, that means I can make their designs a bit more complicated than I usually would for this kind of thing.

While the Faces of Fear is just a small halloween treat for the fans of the game, this next expansion is supposedly much meatier (or so I've heard), and I'm also working on a few new monsters for it! I've personally haven't played any of the expansions or the base game, but working with Late Knight Games was really nice, so I hope they suceed on the new Kickstarter.
