Description
Here's a reference sheet of Beyondverse Primon AKA The Alpha Prime, mentioned in my "Transformers Beyond: Legendarium" maxi-series.An ancient being believed to be Primus's very first creation and precursor of the Thirteen Primes.
Beyondverse Primon's design has elements from his original design as Ancient Robot in the G1 Season 3 multi-parter "Five Faces of Darkness" and even some elements from IDW Primus. Other aspects of his design were borrowed from Soundbluster 's design of Primus in her SG Prime mini-comic "Myths and Legends", and RexBlazer1 's depiction of Nova Prime in Transformers Animated.
The idea of Primon being an early creation of Primus and Vector Sigma being his reformatted form was inspired by Nagillim in his version of the Cybertronian Timeline .
The insignia on Primon's chest (which replaces the Ancient Autobot symbol) is the mark of the Beyondverse's version of the Covenant. In-universe, this symbol will serve as Primus's inspiration to create the Creation Matrix of Leadership.

Overview: Primon, also known as the Alpha Prime, is the very first creation of Primus and leader of the Covenant, demigod-like companions created by the Light God to help him in his battle against his dark brother, Unicron the Chaos-Bringer. As he predated the Thirteen Primes, the first of the Cybertronian race, it is conceivable that he predates Cybertron itself.
Voice Actor: David Kaye (as Primon), Corey Burton (as Vector Sigma)
Alternative Names/Designations: Primon the Ancient, The Alpha Prime, First of the Covenant, The Knight of Primordion, The First Child of Primus
Gender: Male
Age: Uncertain, believed to be created a few centuries right before Cybertron's formation circa 10-11 billion years ago
Home Planet: Primordion (currently known as Cybertron)
Species: Digital Entity
Affiliation: Covenant
Occupation: KNIGHT
Motto: "Before Cybertron was, I was."
Bio: Very little is known about the mythologized entity only known as Primon, but according to the ancient texts within the Covenant of Primus, it is believed that Primon was the leader of the Covenant, a group of thirteen digital entities created by Primus with the AllSpark who were tasked to prevent Unicron's dark creations, the Heralds of Unicron, from wreaking havoc in the universe while he took care of the Chaos-Bringer. Like his creator, Primon was a being who cared about the preservation of all lifeforms in the cosmos, no matter their origin. He's often defined by the priests of the Matrix Templars as a Knight, a force for good who sought to bring peace and justice as he helped the helpless.
After eons of fighting, the Covenant and the Heralds of Unicron halted their battle when Primus and Unicron suddenly disappeared without explanation. The digital beings scattered across the universe during their search for their creators, until Primon was able to track down Primus's energy signal within the core of the fourth planet of the newly-formed Hadean System. He then summons his twelve siblings from throughout the cosmos to join him, as he also recognized Unicron's energy signal within the planet that also imprisons Primus.
Alerted by the Covenant's reunification, the Heralds of Unicron converged on the Hadean System to rescue their master, engaging their opposite numbers in combat. Their titanic battle is enough to shake the entire Hadean System and destroy entire worlds, but eventually, the Covenant were able to easily defeat the Heralds. After the battle, Primon and the Covenant descended into the fourth planet's underground, going through seemingly endless tunnels until they reach the core, where they find Primus's AllSpark and Unicron's Anti-Spark trapped within. They are able to make contact with Primus through the AllSpark, who congratulates them for their victory over the Heralds of Unicron. He explains to them that while Unicron is neutralized within the planet's core for the moment, he fears that he'll eventually escape and continue his plans of universal destruction. He then reveals to them his "Grand Plan", stating that he'll use the AllSpark's life-giving powers to create a new species that'll serve as the universe's last line of defense against the Chaos-Bringer if he ever escaped from his prison. Before going into hibernation within the planet's core, Primus tasks the Covenant to teach his Children about their world and help them thrive while he reshapes his prison into a living, technorganic world, which they would name "Primordion".
Throughout the many eons, Primon and the Covenant watched as Primordion was slowly transformed into a thriving world that became home to a myriad of technorganic lifeforms brought to life by the AllSpark through Primus's will, among them the Primordials, a sentient race of technorganic humanoids who were able to shape their bodies into whatever form they choose. Astounded by these new lifeforms, believing them to be the Children of Primus, the Covenant, including Primon, became teachers to the Primordials, teaching them all about the Guiding Hand, the Theomachy, the eternal conflict between Primus and Unicron, and the AllSpark. With the aid of Primon and the Covenant, the Primordials quickly created their own advanced civilization on Primordion, becoming astronomers and space explorers who utilized the Space Bridges to travel the universe.
Primordion was a paradise, a technorganic Garden of Eden....but every paradise has its own serpent.
One of Primon's siblings, his brother Scorpius, began to grow dissatisfied of his new life. Soon, his dissatisfaction eventually escalated into paranoia and hatred as Scorpius believed that the Primordials were tainted by Unicron's darkness, thinking that they might one day free the Chaos-Bringer from his prison and cause destruction of all life in the universe. Scorpius talks to his siblings about his thoughts, hoping to convince them to destroy the Primordials before they turn against them, but Primon and the others dimissed his concerns.
After also getting no answers to his concerns from Primus, Scorpius decides to take matters into his own hands as he starts his own crusade to wipe out the Primordials. In response to this, Primon and the other eleven Covenant members raised arms to stop their fallen brother's rampage and protect the Children of Primus. All of this would result in a conflict even more devastating and destructive than the future Cybertronian Civil Wars. An apocalyptic battle that'll be forever known in Primordion history as "Point Omega".
The battles of the Covenant during Point Omega were so titanic that the entire Primordion biosphere was torn asunder, killing hundreds of billions of Primordials across the planet's surface. This would force the survivors retreat into forgotten caverns in Primordion's deep underground, leaving behind their once great civilization and beginning a long devolution into biomechanical energon "Demons".
Soon, Primon's other siblings Ariex, Taurotron, Geminator, Cancix, Leonicus, Virgol, Libras, Sagittarii, Capricun, Aquator, and Piscor all die in gruesome deaths at the hands of Scorpius. As the only remaining member of the Covenant left, Primon directs all of his power and strength within his weapon, the Sword of Primus, and used it to finally defeat Scorpius, tearing his body asunder and destroying the Sword of Primus in the process.
While Primon was the victor in Point Omega, he was alone and mortally wounded after his final battle. Despite being mortally wounded, Primon gathers up the remains of his twelve siblings and journeys into Primordion's core to consul with Primus on what to do next.
Saddened by these turn of events, Primus declares that he'll use the AllSpark to create a new race in the place of the Ancients. He saves Primon's life by reformatting into a new body that'll serve as his connection to his Children while he continues to slumber and keeps Unicron at bay within the planet's core. Primon's new form would become a life-giving supercomputer that would be known as Vector Sigma, tasked to serve as a guide for the new Children of Primus.
Under Vector Sigma's guidance, Primordion was rebuilt and reformatted into the mechanical world that would be forever known as "Cybertron".
While the remains Ariex, Taurotron, Geminator, Cancix, Leonicus, Virgol, Libras, Scorpius, Sagittarii, Capricun, Aquator, and Piscor would be used by Primus to create the Thirteen Primes, he gave all of them aspects of Primon, endowed them with his great wisdom and heroism. This has led to many religious groups, such as the Matrix Templars and the Way of Flame, believing that Primon is the progenitor and ancestor of the Prime Lineage.
As Vector Sigma, Primon continues to aid his creator in his Grand Plan as he maintains Cybertron's vital functions and sustenance of mechanical life.
Weaponry/Equipment:
- Sword of Primus: The Sword of Primus, also known as the Blade of Primus, was a powerful weapon wielded by Primus that allowed him to cut, not just planets, but entire galaxies in half. He used the Sword to battle against Unicron and Adaptus during the Theomachy. The Sword of Primus ceased to exist when Primus became the core of Cybertron, however, Primus would recreate the weapon for Primon in his quest to guide his Children. During Point Omega, Primon directed all of his power into the Sword, using to completely obliterate Scorpius, destroying the weapon in the process. Fragments of the Sword of Primus would be eventually discovered by the Thirteen Primes during Cybertron's prehistory, which would be passed on to the Knights of Cybertron. Right before their departure from Cybertron, the Knights tasked the elder Matrix Templar priests to protect the Sword of Primus shards until the day that the Sword will reunite for the final battle against the Chaos-Bringer. The Sword of Primus would become the inspiration of legendary blades within the Artifacts of the Primes, the most notable being the Star Saber and the Terminus Blade.
