The characterizations of Link and Zelda you see here are from the 1989 Zelda animated series. Personally speaking I would let Zelda save me any day!

I have one of those DVDs. xD You can order them on sites, I forget where I got mine, tho. I should watch it again soon, when I've got the time.
I love looking at fan artwork of the show, it brings back such good times of when I was 9 years old.

Not bad Tiki, but I gotta say you do a much better job with the solid line shading than the airbrush.

Yeah. I think it has to do with the nature of shadows themselves. Whether you get a crisp line or a smooth fade depends on the flatness of the surface and the angle of the light source. Airbrushes are great in that they give you a nice gradation but they easily overdue it, creating too much of a fade for an impossibly curved surface. Airbrushes also tend to be too regular and smooth, lacking texture. Look at the shadows around your now - I am willing to bet (although, not a whole hell of a lot) that they would be more easily drawn with a solid brush, perhaps using just a bit of blur on the far edge, than an airbrush.

It's a learning process, that's for sure. I really hate doing cell shading, which is probably why it looks better when I do it haha.
