Update - January 17/09:-- Recreated entire ship in Adobe Illustrator, and added several new features.
The Firebat class Interceptor is a one-person light fighter in the Star Trek world. In a battle, the fighters are quickly scrambled in large numbers from big vessels such as the Galaxy or Sovereign class (or a special carrier ship that I am currently designing). By using their large numbers and very quick sub-light speeds, the small craft's main role is to overwhelm the enemy and deal quick precise blows with it's fierce armament. The fighters return to their mothership after battle because they are not meant for long durations of solitary space travel.
*Max Warp: Because the majority of engine power goes to weapons and shields, the Firebat's default max warp is 3.0. This can be altered (to a maximum of warp 6.0) if the mission calls for a long range role, however, this drastically reduces its battle efficiency.
The enclosed cockpit module ejects in case of emergency.

Your Firebat looks very much to have drawn reference from Cobra's Firebat ([link] ). It too is a single occupancy rapid attack jet with a very similar function and wing layout. Not that there is ANYTHING wrong with drawing inspiration from other sources, it makes it fun to look at how it functions in the Star Trek verse.

Hmm, never liked the Warp capability for Carrier based Fighters, The Valkyrie and the Orcus have a sort of "Warp Booster" which increases their sublight acceleration considerably, but keeps them from crossing into warp 1. Interceptors to me always meant small, light anti-fighter fighters that are even shorter range than most. I dunno about the yield etc since Isotons are one of those tricky things in Trek, they don't really mean anything worthwhile and even in universe have a tendency to be wildly inconsistent. I would prefer to have yield/power listed in joules or watts, something tangible.

I know this is the first comment in a while, but I just came across this. I am concerned for this ships lack of ventral weapons. A ship could easily get under this one and just hammer it. Perhaps cut the dorsal phaser strips from the design or make it a 360 degree array. Also, I see it says four phaser arrays. Are there ventral ones that are intended to be in this design but left out of the blurprints? Perhaps add a second array at the bottom. I assume this ship is to replace the Peregrine?
Other than this question, she's a great looking ship.

Be careful how much weaponry your putting on this thing. A generator capable of this much output should take up quite a bit of space. Still, it's very nice.

Well, they haven't actually had any stuff from that time, but my Avenger is slated for launch in 2400, and the Firebat seems like it would fit with it lol
