Description

Name: James J. Spainhower

Born: March 10, 1926; Petersburg, Indiana

Died: December 15, 1998; Mishawaka, Indiana (age 72)

Allegiance: Assassins

Bio: James was born the second oldest son of James Alfred Spainhower, who was the grandson of legendary Hoosier Assassin, James David Spainhower, in 1926.  Unlike his grandfather, however, James A.’s personality left something to be desired, to the point where he was on the edge of excommunication from the Assassin Brotherhood.  This poor attitude from James J.’s father combined with the tragic early death of his mother Aileen Cox in 1930, weighed heavily on the young boy growing up.  He was often aggressive and rude, much like his father, and it only got worse with the introduction of his stepmom Lucy, whom he also didn't care for.  Tensions were extremely high at home, and James constantly sought an escape.  Luckily for him, such an escape finally came in 1941.

Europe had started ripping itself apart with the outbreak of World War II in 1939.  The Assassins’ enemies, the Templars, had given the leader of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler, an Apple of Eden with which he could cause mass slaughter and evil.  The Nazis quickly swept through France and was on the verge of taking England too.  The United States opted to stay out of the conflict officially, though still have supplies to its overseas allies.  However, with the attack on Pearl Harbor by Japanese forces on December 7, 1941, the country officially entered the war armed to the teeth.  James saw this as his way out of his terrible family situation, and so, using Assassin resources without permission, he faked his personal information in order to join the US Army and get shipped off overseas.  The war was a completely different kind of hell, but to him, it was still better than living under his parents’ roof.  Out in the field he was able to kill Templars freely and let out some of that pent up anger without much consequence.  His service took him to the Pacific theatre, where was shot in the shoulder.  A medic treated him but the bullet wasn't removed as they assumed it wouldn't cause any trouble.  His body ended up healing over it and he kept up his fighting spirit.  This would eventually earn him a Purple Heart.  Paris was liberated soon after, and Hitler was killed by the Assassins Adler Nesher and Alouette Alexandre in 1945.  The war ultimately ended when the Templars convinced US president Harry Truman to drop atomic bombs on two Japanese cities filled with innocents, Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  The Axis surrendered, the war was over, and many men, including James, were sent home.

James did not return to Indiana, at least not right away.  Instead of facing his parents at home, he settled down in Troy, New York.  There he met an older woman named Elizabeth Katherin Fogarty, whom he formed a relationship with and married.  They had two twin boys, Jim and Bill, on October 16, 1947, and a daughter named Mary a bit later.  His hard life carried over to how he raised his kids, ultimately becoming a reflection of his own father.  The family even moved back to Indiana, to South Bend where his own parents had moved to.  James’s grandson, Tim, was born in 1970, and he would never have a good relationship with his grandfather until his last days.  Tim could barely stand the strictness of his own father, let alone his grandfather.  Tim ultimately left South Bend for Indianapolis with his wife in the 1990s in order to seek out his own path.  He would come back and visit every now and then, and he found that James had finally begun to mellow out in his final days.  Tim visited him in the hospital in 1998, showing him an ultrasound photograph of his own son Carter, showing him that the Spainhower name would go on in a sort of last act of kindness to mend old wounds.  James ultimately passed away in December 1998, with the bullet he had gotten over five decades prior still inside his leg.

He is the great grandfather of Carter Spainhower and Chelsea Patterson.

I may be a smidge obsessed with designing historical outfits and cramming as much detail into them as possible XD

New ancestors.. I like the hood's style but I can not associate this game series with modern times.

Game series for the old times. Maybe..

Proletarian Revolutions of 1848 Italia, France, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, England, Sweden, Switzerland
Great Fire of London , 1666
Crime in New York City 19th century

I feel like all time periods have potential for a fun and interesting AC game The modern day story was what held the entire series together until they made the dumb decision to kill off Desmond XD

I've got an OC from early 19th century France (may or may not be slightly based on Les Mis XD) and one from the English Civil War.  It's just a matter of smoothing out the rough edges in their stories.

I agree. All historical events can be set in game's fiction.
