That seems like something that I might be able to draw.  It might take a while, though.  My schedule is really tight as of now.  I hope that isn't an issue.

Is there anything specific that you had in mind?

np i thought i was funny, you should have done the next picture of her being banished to the moon and title it "the real reason why luna was sent to the moon."

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Avapithecus In reply to AJK1678 [2015-05-13 22:13:53 +0000 UTC]

True.  However, in the pony world Luna had the power to end all life on the planet in one move.  Celestia didn't have much choice in that scenario.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AJK1678 In reply to Avapithecus [2015-05-13 22:25:32 +0000 UTC]

not really if celestia could stop her then she didnt. it was mainly done to show how the sisters ended up losing the use of the elements of harmony. even celestia said that she and her sister were cut off from its power after that. luna just ended up getting jealous over how the ponys of the world would only play in the day time vs her night time where they would all just sleep.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Avapithecus In reply to AJK1678 [2015-05-13 22:36:12 +0000 UTC]

Well, yes.  But Luna wanted the moon out 24/7.  And (even though that's scientifically impossible) that would cause any plant life to die out from lack of photosynthesis.  That, in turn, would wipe out herbivores (including ponies) due to starvation.  Omnivores and carnivores would soon follow.  Life depends on the sun, which Celestia had to defend.  She couldn't save Luna, so she had to banish her in order to save the world from total extinction.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AJK1678 In reply to Avapithecus [2015-05-13 22:41:48 +0000 UTC]

i wasnt contesting the not letting the sun out (in which case you are very correct in the following of destruction of all life. well done!) i was stating that luna wasnt even a threat if she could be stopped.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Avapithecus In reply to AJK1678 [2015-05-13 22:47:14 +0000 UTC]

But she couldn't be stopped.  In the end, the only reason Celestia was able to beat Luna was because she pulled out the Elements, which she considered a last resort.

AJK1678 In reply to Avapithecus [2015-05-13 22:57:41 +0000 UTC]

looked stopped to me with her sitting on the moon. as previously stated it was to illustrate that celestia and luna could no longer use the elements of harmony due to the discord between them hence choosing new element bearers. harmony is required in order to access them and in turn necessary for the ponys to continue existence. but in the same token we as watchers of the show were never informed of why both celestia and luna took the elements from the tree of harmony in the first place. which was supposed to keep what ever was buried in the everfree forest dormant. but here is the thing im not arguing with you im more or less still thinking we as fans are putting to much thought into a kids show. lol

Lol.  You're probably right.  Still, it's always fun to come up with these theories.  Even if we don't agree with each other when it comes to headcannons.  So long as it doesn't get out of hand, I feel  like it's okay to agree to disagree.

lol that's why we need to petition them for a codex ex equestria. in fact i found most of what you had to say quite valid. thankfully we can both act like adults and have a debate about something and come away with a better understanding about each others views. unlike some others you and i can at least have a civilized conversation about it with our resorting to threats of fire bombing (yes i actually saw that in a forum about a year ago) needless to say i think this has proved that a fan of the show can talk with someone who really isn't (i watch the show with my kids to spend time with them and i like to write in general doesn't really matter about what.) i found this most enlightening indeed!

Avapithecus In reply to AJK1678 [2015-05-13 23:31:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah.  Although, to be honest, I'd prefer not to know everything about the show and its history.  I feel that would be boring.  Half of the fun is figuring everything out for yourself.

But, yeah.  Unfortunately a lot of people aren't capable of accepting alternate views from their own.  I, personally, grew up living with someone who took that to the extreme.  So, naturally I developed a deep disliking to those types of people.  There's too much in the world for there to be just one way of looking at things.  That's why it's up to us to determine what we see as true.  And part of doing that is hearing of new ways to look at the world.  Change is a great thing.  It's a shame that there are those who can't comprehend that.

AJK1678 In reply to Avapithecus [2015-05-13 23:43:21 +0000 UTC]

yeah it would be boring but im sure at some point they will throw things together for us.
ill agree to that the biggest thing the fandom has done for its people is the sudden rush of creativity that came from it. it got people to do things they thought they couldn't do or for that matter got people interested in worth while hobbies. drawing, writing, poetry, painting all of those things are quite wonderful and expand you as a person and help you grow. and you are quite right that change is a good thing sometimes painful but necessary. I also had to put up with someone growing up that had many misconceptions about certain things (cue in evil step mother music) she didn't like me writing, she didnt like anything that you did unless it followed status qou so to speak. she didnt know the difference between free writing and actual novel type writing format. dare i say it was like me and my brother were living in the dead poets society movie. and you are right it is a shame that people cant be civilized about such small things. i must say that now i feel very good to have met you on here just as i have so many others. good man!

It only takes a glimmer of inspiration for a dream to take root, and it takes a lot of effort to help that dream become a reality.  It may take a while, but it's worth it in the end.

I know exactly how you feel.  My mother was the same way.  Anything that she saw as a threat to her mindset or her power, she instantly tried to eliminate it, even if it meant causing misery to others.  But thankfully that environment is long gone, and I came out of the battle victorious.  I stood strong, stayed true to my creeds, and fought for what I knew was right.  It was difficult at times, but it was well worth the effort.  I'm happy to have met you as well, kind sir.  It's always nice to talk to someone who I can hold a decent conversation with.

no doubt, nothing like a struggle to make you love what you do, to make you love it even more. im sure we both had some pretty ghastly things said to us about our chosen hobby. i got lucky though i had two really good english teachers that really loved creativity. i even had my old stuff that i wrote taken over to Sweden when my sophomore english teacher went out there for an exchange. i ended up getting a lot of email that summer from the students asking tons of questions and also lots of their work either written or drawn. now that was one of my best summers. i spent most of my time either writing or looking at art from over seas. my dad actually had to limit my time because i was pretty much spending all of my time writing emails and giving feed back.
well back to work i suppose i have some stuff im still working on now. an old project that i found from some years back.

Perhaps.  Although, community service indicates that she'd be doing something to help people.  Being banished wouldn't do anything to help people.
