Description
As we are getting closer to the new Godzilla movie, lets take a good look at all 30 designs Godzilla has changed over the last 60 years. And yes, the "Always 2" design counts because even though it was just a cameo, it's still an officially used design. And as for those who say "Why isn't Zilla in this?", well ain't it obvious? Zilla is not Godzilla, does not count as Godzilla, he's a completely different kaiju that has no relation with Godzilla in anyway, he sucks as Godzilla, but surprisingly is better on his own.
UPDATE:
If you stumble upon here and for one second spew bullshit that "Zilla does count as Godzilla" and that the Zilla Name Change is false, here's evidence that proves Toho renamed the fucking fraud as "Zilla", making it a completely non-Godzilla related kaiju:
www.trademarkia.com/godzilla-7… (1998 trademark EXPIRED)
www.trademarkia.com/logo-75503… (abandoned)
www.trademarkia.com/zilla-7666… (current trademark, STILL ACTIVE)
lh4.googleusercontent.com/-b2P… (if it looks like the trademark design, resembles the trademark, and looks EXACTLY the same as all of its incarnations, then it's called "Zilla" and it's trademarked as a completely different character)
web.archive.org/web/2005102409…
web.archive.org/web/2005020318… (these guys from Toho makes it very
clear they do not recognize it as Godzilla and even went as far as saying that it only "took the 'god' out of 'Godzilla'")
trademarks.justia.com/766/69/z… (Toho owns Zilla since 1998)
web.archive.org/web/2005020318… (on "Monster Alert!", Toho themselves announced they renamed it "Zilla")
www.idwpublishing.com/godzilla… (IDW COMICS THEMSELVES SAID THE THING IS RE-TRADEMARKED AS ZILLA, AND THAT IS A VALID EVIDENCE BECAUSE THEY ARE CURRENTLY USING ALL TOHO KAIJUS THAT ARE ALL LICENSED BY TOHO! So if it showed up under the Zilla trademark, then it's called Zilla)
So, what have we learned from this info, kids? NEVER ARGUE WITH LEGAL COPYRIGHT DOCUMENTS AND OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION!!!

Zilla is a separate character unrelated, Toho made it very clear about that.

Right, because nobody here on DeviantArt does the same. The guy who's comment I hid was another troll, so I did what I did. Honestly, I have no shame in doing that, and I'd do it again.

I've already mentioned it in the description, but it's the AlwaysGoji design, the one that only made a cameo appearance in a Toho film called Always Sunset on 3rd Street 2 (2007). While it is just a cameo, it counts because it is still an officially used design by Toho.

I don't know, I like the 25th one because he seemed more scary if you didn't know exactly what he was looking at, but I still think the newest one is the best.

The GMK Godzilla is looking down at the people below the mountain, but from that angle he's looking at you.
"I still think the newest one is the best."
I personally love the Legendary Godzilla design too, it's my #1 favorite Godzilla of all time, I'll tell it to you in great detail when I publish my journal of the "Top 13 Favorite Godzilla Designs". But I can say this, it's the perfect Godzilla design, it's like the Final Wars design where it takes all previous designs and meshes them into one form, except Legendary's design perfects it.

That's because he doesn't count because he's a completely different character with his own copyright trademark.

Godzilla sure was fugly until the 80's. Even then he had a bad case of thunderthighs until Godzilla 2000.

1. Well, Godzilla is a monster, you can't expect him to look pretty;
2. But I do see with what you mean in the Showa series, Godzilla started to look more goofy in the mid 60s to the mid 70s.
3. Godzilla's always been bulky, not fat. There's a big difference.

I just find it ironic when I see people fat shaming the 2014 Godzilla despite him being arguably the most agile and fastest Godzilla to date.

Awesomeness360 In reply to Yamato012 [2014-05-29 04:00:26 +0000 UTC]
Actually, the fastest, most agile Godzilla to date is the FinalGoji from "Godzilla: Final Wars", the LegendaryGoji is the biggest and most strongest Godzilla to date.

I dont know, combat wise it seems Legendary Godzilla moved about alot faster than his previous counterparts and his swimming speed is unmatched, clocked in at 31-32 knots, able to make it from Hawaii to San Francisco in under 36 hours. Thats over 2400 miles in distance.
Plus this Godzilla is just...brutal. The way he finishes off the Female Muto is something else.

Awesomeness360 In reply to CommnderShepard117 [2014-05-19 19:21:44 +0000 UTC]
Yes, it doesn't count because it has no resemblance to the original Godzilla at all, and thus it was so different up to a point were it couldn't be recognized as Godzilla anymore that Toho re-copyrighted as "Zilla" after TriStar's rights expired in 2003.

"I love Godzilla 2000 and Godzilla Millenium" I get that you ID that last part as Final Wars. But. . . Godzilla Millennium was Godzilla 2000, because in America, that movie was released during the new millennium. Though you could very well just be calling out the entire millennium era of Godzilla films, but that might already go for Godzilla 2000 so I'm taking it as you calling Millennium as Final Wars which isn't exactly accurate. Don't take this as a bad thing, for all I know I could be just mislead into your statement, but at the same time I could be very much right and just informing you on what I know/see things.

No problemo
For me, Godzilla "Millenium" is Godzilla final wars, cuz Final Wars is in the Millenium Era and he didn't have a name (except Godzilla)

And you care about spelling why? It's really not important here on the internet. The only time spelling is important is when you're either applying for a job or doing a presentation, anywhere else it's not a big deal.

Awesomeness360 In reply to Art-Andy [2014-03-09 19:29:20 +0000 UTC]
No it doesn't. These are official, original Toho designs used in films (the AlwaysGoji design does count because even though it wasn't used in a Godzilla movie, it is still design and used by Toho), any design outside of the franchise don't count, even the MarvelGoji design, which ironically is used for the trademark logo.
