I came across this on my Facebook page, and all I have to say it look KICKASS!!! XD
This picture was taken by a Brazilian G-fan in an expo in Brazil.
Beauties and douchebags, coming back from his 10 year break, back to stomp the living shit out of buildings once more - destination: San Francisco - to scare humanity and put us back in our place, our worst fear, our living nightmare, the nuclear terror, the God of Destruction, the King of the Monsters himself - GODZILLA!!!

... If only this was actually the design they were using for the movie. Unfortunately, with the release of a new official image, it seems Godzilla will look much more like the rather chunky sculpture from the Godzilla encounter. This design in the picture would be a Godzilla I would instantly support, but that chunky sculpture from the encounter... not so much.

At least he will look like Godzilla this time, and won't look like Zilla ever again. And how does this look like the sculpture from the encounter? That was one of the many models of the design in progress, this here IS the official design.

You seem to have missed something important: The official trailer was released and we get a fairly clear view of Godzilla at numerous points throughout.
I have a copy of the trailer saved and have viewed it numerous times literally frame by frame in both video and music editing software. Godzilla's throat is thicker, his body bulkier, and his head a little more flat since he hunches over more than in this picture. This picture was at a licensing expo, and while it's very close, it was never confirmed as the final design.
This shot is epic, no arguments. However, it is not what the final design looks like down to the last detail. The rather thick and (to me at least) chunky sculpture of Godzilla from the encounter is closer to the design seen in the official trailer than this poster.

I've been very hesitant about this new movie, and still am... But I gotta say, I'm a bit excited now. This IS Godzilla. My only dislikes are I don't like the little spikes on the cheeks, but I can live with em, and I wish his teeth were a bit larger... He is a theropod, after all. BUT! I forgive both, because when I look at this I SEE THE KING!!! Now this, combined with Akira Takerada being in it.... Actually getting a BIT excited. my one qualm is Edwards comment to a website saying that he focuses so much on the human drama that he forgets he's making a Godzilla film. But, I'm givin him a chance. ESPECIALLY now.
