Description #5 - Showa MechaGodzilla: There are technically two, but I'm putting "Showa MG" in general because they're basically the same thing, even though MG2 has some major upgrades from that of its predecessor. He's on this list because the Showa MG, like its successors, is a powerhouse when it comes to arsenal. Even though it is on #5 because it looks kinda goofy, this is still a legitimate threat.

#4 - Kiryu: This being the most recent iteration of MechaGodzilla at the time this was the most improved, this MechaGodzilla is agile and is built around the original Godzilla bones. But it takes #4 because the face can look rather goofy too, especially those big eyes.

#3 - Heisei poster MG: I've always liked Orhai Noriyoshi's unique design and the poster it came from. This was the final design we almost got in 1993 and was decided on for a while, but when Toho realized being three separate vehicles merging into MechaGodzilla was an expensive idea (I can see why), they scrapped it in favor of a more simpler MechaGodzilla and ultimately got the final design we did get. But I still love this design, and I'm glad it's getting some more exposure.

#2 - Heisei MechaGodzilla: This thing is a freakin' tank, its armor, weaponry, arsenal, he's a goddamn tank. I grew up with this design since 2002's "Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee", this was the first design that to me said "this is what the character in general looks like". What puts this in #2 is the fact this is also the very design used for the trademark logo. Plus, this MechaGodzilla becomes the even more powerful Super MechaGodzilla.

#1 - Hollywood MechaGodzilla: Everything I had to say about this design is already here >> fav.me/dc9xc2s << but what I love about this MechaGodzilla is the fact that A) this is the very first ever Hollywood version of MG and it is exactly how I imagined it would be and I'm satisfied seeing the character finally adapted in a Hollywood film; B) Just like Legendary's Godzilla and Kong, they give MechaGodzilla an appropriately updated/modernized cosmetic while staying true to the classic silhouette. It's a happy balance between being new while being classic at the same time, and I always love character designs like that. This is a design that like the last one says "this is what the character in general looks like" but in louder volumes, the Heisei MG says that too but it also says "this is what the character in that particular movie looks like". What makes me love this design even more is the fact that not only does it resembles Legendary's Godzilla but it also resembles Ohrai Noriyoshi's design, that's because Toho actually requested them to make it look like that, so not only is it an updated version with a fitting design, but it is also a homage to the deceased artist. That's an A+ in my book. Just like Legendary's Godzilla and Kong, this is the perfect MechaGodzilla design in my honest opinion.

I don't think the original Mechagodzilla looks "goofy" at all.  As a matter of fact, it's the most attractive of the five.
