Description FOR COLORIZING LINEART AND STUFF!

Um I know a lot of you are going to ask what the purpose of this is, its for when you wanna colorize a lineart without affecting the rest of the picture...or moreso for me, when I finish a picture I add lighting effects and layer effects and the such to just the character in the forground and like it to go over the lineart blah blah. Needless to say its a good thing to know how to do.

for people just coloring under a lineart without wanting to color the lineart note, you can simply set the layer to multiply and color under it

ALSO! um for people who want to try another method there is a way to do this using channels. I personally think its easier to do my method but some people think this is easier. You can go to [link]

Ohh, I never realized you could do this! lol. I always just color in multiply mode so I don't go over the lineart, but this could definitely come in handy.

Thanks for teaching me something new C:

vybloz13 In reply to vybloz13 [2007-03-30 04:39:59 +0000 UTC]

ah, technically, I did not mention that the image was about sodomy. since when has it been wrong to post something like that ^ ? It could mean that, if the image was going to end up with the two committing sodomy, THEN it would be bad, right? OR I may just be reminding ppl that the act of sodomy is BAAAAD. There you go. Slap me. XD

Yesss...but I need some advice on what to do if you scan a picture...and it's in your sketch book..and all sketch-booky...x.x I SOOO don't wanna go over and re-lineart it on the computer...;_;..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BananAdopt In reply to moonsun098 [2007-03-25 07:40:43 +0000 UTC]

You can clean up a sketch by going into image/adjust/levels. There you can toggle with the three little arrow thingers until you think you've gotten rid of most of the mid grays <3

Awesome tutorial D: I wish I had a tablet though. Even when I adjust the levels on my lineart they look so craggly and pixel-y o.<; Lately I've just been inking digitally and that takes forever. You're lineart is always so neat and prettyful.

I suspect that method is way more complex than need be because I went around and played with it and didnt see anything about it that would make it able to do this. In fact oO it wouldnt even let me apply any changes
