Description
The monument to Emanuele Filiberto Savoia, San Carlo Square, Turin. Sculpted by Carlo Marocchetti in 1838, it portrays the Prince of Pedemont in the act of putting aside his sword after winning the battle of San Quintino against the French Army, in 1557.Emanuele Filiberto Savoia was also known as "Testa di ferro" (Iron head) because of his strong perseverance; on the other side, this monument, which can be considered one of the symbols of the city, is familiarly called "Caval 'd brons" (Bronze horse in Pedemont's dialect) by people from Turin.
On the background, the church of San Carlo Borromeo can be seen through the fog.
Full view recommended. Thanks for viewing.

Beautiful in its own way, I love the historical feel you give all your feelings with Turin. I don't think I can view another photo of this statue without thinking of your shot now, just the slight focus in the background of the church with the statue, is just outstanding

Love this! Looks like he's riding out of the mists of history. Also like the composition and use of negative space with the building peeking out behind him. Well done.
