Description We've got an interesting one today, folks. The Yu-Gi-Oh community has devised up a TON of creative ways to get more out of our Extra Deck and this concept is no different. Artist's Note: It took me a long time to get this concept ready since I had to build the template for it from the ground-up. It took me just as long to try an make an example card because I was confused over the rulings. Thankfully, I persevered through all of that and it resulted in something pretty cool. (Also I know that my parody of "Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely" isn't correct, the title just couldn't be longer. I also know that the original Evolute Template is supposed to be a deep shade of red, the problem here being that Unleash Monsters  have a template is also a deep-ish shade of red. I tried to differentiate between the two without straying too far from the source material.)

Evolute Summon is a fanmade technique made by and, from what I've interpreted, this could be a very powerful summoning method. There is an "official" entry for Evolute Monsters on the LionHeartKing Wikia  , but I'll try to explain it as well as I can here. Evolute Monsters are placed in your Extra Deck and must be Evolute Summoned first. Evolute Monsters have Stages instead of Levels or Ranks. Since Stages are not treated as Levels or Ranks, they are unaffected by cards that refer to Levels or Ranks. Much like our previous concept, Unleash Monsters , Evolute Monsters cannot be used for a Special Summon that involve Level modulation; those being Ritual, Synchro or Xyz Summoning. However, they can be used for a Fusion or Tribute Summon unless the aforementioned Level modulation is mentioned. A card's Stages represents the number of Evolute-Counters the monster has upon being Summoned. Evolute-Counters (or E-Counters) can be removed to activate an Evolute Monster's effect(s).

After this point, the concept got a little confusing for me. Thankfully, the original creator showed up to clear it up. A huge thanks to  for sorting all of this out. There are two common ways that Evolute Monsters can be Evolute Summoned based on the card's requirements. Either you send one monster with the same type and one monster with the same attribute as the Evolute Monster to the Graveyard, or you send 2 monsters with Levels/Ranks that equal the Stages of the Evolute Monster in question. Regardless of whether or not an Evolute Monster requires materials of a specific type or attribute, the Levels/Ranks of the materials do need to add up to the Stages of the Evolute Monster in question. Also, E-Counters cannot be recovered without a support card and all of an Evolute Monster's E-Counters are lost upon leaving the field, equipping to a monster (in an Armory Arm-esque fashion) or becoming Xyz Materials (I'm looking at you Cyber Dragon Infinity). That's about it, this was a rather simple concept. I think that Evolute Monsters have the potential to be VERY powerful. If the conditions are as simple as one type and one attribute, or two monsters with different Levels/Ranks that equal a total, then Evolute Monsters have the potential to swarm the field. We already have similar requirements with Synchro Summoning so this shouldn't be difficult. I'm not sure of this would wind up being very broken or just extremely effective in the game, my conscience is leaning towards the former, but 'tis only a concept so nothing is set in stone even as you view this.

Also, there will be a template for the concepts I'll review...eventually  . Once I reach a decent amount I'll release them all in a big celebratory package.

Artist's Edit: The original template I made for Evolute monsters was a little bland. 's original template was an incredibly deep shade of red, which I could replicate, but Unleash Monsters are already red. The maroon stuck as a color that made its own impression, but otherwise it was very standard. Now, the effect box is lighter and its border is yellow, just to define it from the rest of the card. The card itself is a bit darker and now there are some patterns mixed in with the maroon. As a matter of fact, forget the maroon. The more I edit this card the more it becomes a burnt red. I think I'm subconsciously making this more and more like the original, just with a little flair.

Vacant-Eyes Revived Dragon (DARK)
Stage: 8
[Zombie/Evolute/Effect]
Lore: 1 DARK monster + 1 Zombie-type monster
All monsters on the field or in either player's Graveyard are treated as Zombie-type monsters. If this card destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: You can remove 2 E-Counters form this card; Inflict damage to your opponent equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster in the Graveyard. You can remove 4 E-Counters from this card: Special Summon 1 Zombie-type monster from either player's Graveyard. You can only activate this effect of "Vacant-Eyes Revived Dragon" once per turn and only once that turn.
ATK: 3500 DEF: 0

I do not own the artwork (which belongs to its respective owner/s), the game of Yu-Gi-Oh (which is © of Konami and Kazuki Takahashi) or the template I used to make this. I made this using a Series 9 version of Magic Set Editor that I have heavily customized with a little help from Photoshop.

Is this concept similar to Synchro summoning? Or Dark Synchro mostly?

I'm flattered as i've seen such post and i really appreciate it  .
Ok, to clear the confusion, Evolute Monsters commonly need both Level/Ranks of its materials and includes Types and Attributes. Also, you can do a Level/Rank Summon without  Types or Attributes, but if only  Types and Attributes, gotta be mostly for low level based decks.

About e-counters, If an Evolute Monster leaves the field, or becomes a Spell Card, or Absorbed as an Xyz Materials, It automatically loses its E-Counters, and they cannot be retreived, except with card effects that supports them. E-Counters are not placed by effect, but by mechanic,  and are instantly placed upon Summon (does not apply to Non-Effect Evolutes.) and they are added euqual to its stage.

Overall, thanks for the post.

Thanks so much for clearing all that up. These posts are all about creativity so I wanted to emulate your ideas as well as I could. I admit the card could have been a deep shade of red, but I digress .

There is a TON of these floating around on Deviantart alone. Plus, I have my own ideas so there will definitely be a lot of these.
